Itinerary
Depart from anywhere in the Greater Lisbon area on this no-rush tour. Expect a quick and comfortable car ride of less than an hour to your first visit of the day.
(1st Wine Tasting) Let's go into the countryside, through villages, hills and windmills. Suddenly, we begin to emerge into vineyards as far as the eye can see between the hills. We're in the Torres Vedras or Alenquer wine-growing areas, and it's time for our first visit to a winery and the first wine tasting of the day. Enjoy!
(Extra Site Visit)* If we have time, we would be delighted to make an extra stop on the itinerary for a quick visit to the renowned, colorful and genuine local market of Caldas da Rainha, which takes place every morning in the central square of this small town. *Remark: This stop is not included in the base itinerary. It is a free add-on if there is time available.
(Site Visit) You will be nothing less than impressed by everything you will discover. From 110-meter-high (360-foot) viewpoints on the cliffs and the oldest Portuguese Catholic shrine, to the spot of the 30-meter (100-foot) high waves and the 16th-century fort that is nowadays a surf museum, to the funicular up and down the hill to the town, the golden sandy beach and the fishermen's quarter... and much more.
(Optional) It's lunchtime. Although it is not included in the tour program, we have set aside time in the program for it. We'll take care of these details once you've booked the tour.
(Visit / 2nd Site) Suddenly a rocky hill topped with a castle rises on the horizon - it's Óbidos. A land of historical importance and heritage, of beauty and authenticity. One of the town's main attractions is its medieval castle, which dates back to the 12th century. Also dating from the 12th century, you'll discover the church of Santa Maria. The entire medieval town is surrounded by well-preserved medieval walls, offering excellent views of the surrounding countryside. The town's narrow, cobbled streets are lined with charming whitewashed houses adorned with colorful flowers, creating a picturesque setting that is perfect for exploring on foot. The town is also known for its craft stores selling local handicrafts, ceramics and souvenirs. Here it will be hard to resist grabbing a souvenir.
(Tasting) Of course... you won't want to miss the opportunity to taste Óbidos' famous liqueur, Ginjinha, made from sour cherries and served in chocolate cups. Just enjoy it. It's on us.
(2nd Wine Tasting) We're back in the countryside, now among vineyards flanked by the Atlantic Ocean and the Serra de Montejunto. We're in the wine-growing areas of Bombarral and Cadaval, where some of the Lisbon region's best-known wines are produced. We're going to visit another winery, this one more traditional and in keeping with the rural spirit. Ready for another wine tasting? Tapas tastings and fingerfood-style local delicacies are also available. No rush... Just enjoy good wine, good company and good conversation! Cheers!
Back to the Lisbon area. A short highway trip of about an hour. The journey takes between 10 and 12 hours, depending on the time you spent on visits and whether you decide to have lunch on site. As a matter of transparency, we would like to inform you that in addition to the added time of 6 hours given to the attractions listed in the itinerary, the remaining 4 to 6 hours announced refer to: 4 hours for the total travel time, and the other 2 hours for the total time of the moments listed as optional. By the way, we'd like you to know that by choosing us you're choosing a free trip for children under 11, plus a reduced trip ticket for youngs under 17 and a 100% sustainable car trip, as all GHG emissions generated are fully offset.

We had a fantastic journey with Marco. He was extremely knowledgeable in the history of Portugal and all of the points of interest. Marco was so patient with us and he customized our excursion for us perfectly. Even during our route he made an extra stop for us to see Nazaré. Thank you Marco for taking such great care of us. This was one of the best experiences we had on a vacation.
Thank you very much for this glowing review. Delighted to hear that you loved the journey and that it was one of the best experiences you have ever had on a vacation. Wow! It was a pleasure to have you on board. Thank you for your curiosity and recommendation.
My wife and I visited Portugal in May for our Honeymoon, and a friend recommended Marco for a tour. We contacted him only a day or two in advanced and, hearing it was our honeymoon, rearranged some plans to take us out for a full day on Saturday. Marco was very kind, knowledgeable, and personal. We loved the vineyard tour, in particular, and would recommend to anyone! He was flexible with us so that he could customize the day to our liking. A great way to close out the trip! Thanks for taking care of us.
Thank you very much for your review. It says a lot about our commitment. I really enjoyed taking you on a day tour discovering the region and I'm happy to have been part of your honeymoon trip. Best wishes.
