⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An outstanding walking food tour and a perfect introduction to Istanbul’s culinary soul. From the punchy, addictive flavours at Meşhur Çiğköfteci Ali Usta, to the artistry and sweetness of LOKUM Atölyesi, every stop felt thoughtfully chosen and deeply authentic. The finale at Siirt Şeref Büryan was simply unforgettable - a truly beautiful restaurant serving extraordinary food, and a fitting end to an exceptional experience. Each dish felt like a wonderfully delicious slice of Turkish cuisine, rich in flavour, tradition and generosity. Our guide, Eylül, was perfect in every way (her eyes lit up when she pronounced my name 🥺) - she was knowledgeable, warm, engaging and effortlessly professional. Eylül brought the food and the city to life. The group dynamic was also fantastic, making the whole experience relaxed, social and great fun. Highly recommended - a must-do in Istanbul for anyone who loves food, culture and genuine local experiences. Ciaran, UK
A thoroughly delightful evening. Eylul was a fantastic host and guide and was very charming. I would definitely recommend.
Very good experience due to the enthusiasm from our guide Eylul as well as knowledge. Lovely food and was full at the end even though we could have had more if we could have had the room for it.
Amazing culinary experience led by a lovely lady. Zeynep took great care of the group, engaged all, and prepared us for each part of the trip. The tour was very well organised. Super clear meeting point, great transfer between locations. Close to the Train Gar, we ventured for the street food, the raw meatball (not actual meat) was surprising, and a burst of flavour. Then off to a sweet experience. Zey explained about the different types of Turkish delight and we got to have a taste. The next stop was the rooftop. Fantastic views!! Despide the weather we were able to take pictures with the city light iluminating the mosques, Galata tower and the bridges. We warmed up with Çay and learned more about the Turkish culture for guests and courtship. Then the restaurant, Siirt Şeref Buryan 1892 was very impressive. The service was impecable and as they were waiting for us and had our orders the wait was minimal. Stand out favourites were the salad and the Perde Pilavi. Then we finished with Çay and Knefe. What a fantastic meal. Highly recommend
Great food in authentic restaurant. Wonderful friendly host. Definitely would recommend this fabulous trip.
Very friendly and informative guide with tons of recommendations, historical facts, and of course, details on all the delicious food we ate. Great experience and a great way to meet new people!
The food tour was a wonderful experience, thanks to Kubilay's knowledge and his enthusiasm for sharing it. He said he's a big fan of culture and history, and it showed in the number and variety of stories he shared through the night. He didn't just talk about the food itself, but also about its role in the larger cultural context of Turkey and Istanbul's history and geography. Plus, he was always willing to talk about a variety of topics. some of the many highlights of the food were the Cig Kofte, the cream-based varieties of Turkish Delight, the Ayran (buttermilk), the Reyan Sherbet, the Adana kebap and the meatball in yoghurt (haydari). And there are accommodations for vegetarian food too. His overall recommendations and willingness to always offer something helped us out the rest of our trip!
“Very well structured - road side eateries for tea and snacks, a boutique restaurant for Lokum, and finally an authentic Turkish restaurant for a sumptuous dinner. It was our first day at Istanbul, and we got a great start. Wonderful hospitality and attention to details. Even after the tour, Zey and Kubilai helped with securing ticket for events, airport pickup and drops (nice cars, great service), and even suggestion for eateries. Thanks for everything. Will also remember Selen for her sense of humour.”
Great experience! Amazing views, lovely people, fantastic food. If you want to try some of the most traditional Turkish food and drinks while having a pleasant conversation and meeting new people this is the perfect experience for you. Fantastic hosts, great places! Highly recommended.
