Embark from Rome on a journey to discover three sacred places in Umbria. A comfortable minivan will pick you up from your hotel or apartment in Rome to take you to Assisi, the birthplace of St. Francis. You will visit the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli and the Porziuncola, a place of prayer. You will explore the medieval streets, the Basilica of San Francesco and the Basilica of Santa Chiara. Finally, together with your tour assistant, you will reach the church that houses the body of the beatified Charles Acutis. Since admission is free, it will only be possible to access if waiting times allow, depending on the turnout at the time. After the tour, free time to enjoy lunch. The tour will continue to Roccaporena, the birthplace of Santa Rita, and you will discover the places related to her life, including the birthplace. Finally you will reach Cascia where you can visit the Basilica that houses her body and the Monastery dedicated to the "Saint of the impossibles".

Cascia is a small and charming village located in the Umbria region, in central Italy. He is best known for his connection with Saint Rita of Cascia, one of the most venerated saints of the Catholic Church. The Shrine of Santa Rita in Cascia is the place where her life and spirit are celebrated, attracting thousands of pilgrims every year. Inside the sanctuary, the body of Saint Rita is preserved, which has been the object of veneration since the moment of her canonization in 1900. The sanctuary has become a center of spirituality and prayer, where the faithful ask for graces and favors, inspired by the example of the saint's life. The figure of Saint Rita remains, therefore, one of the most significant in Christianity, a symbol of unwavering faith and unconditional love. Cascia is also surrounded by unspoilt nature, with mountainous landscapes that make it an ideal destination for those seeking relaxation and direct contact with the natural beauty of Umbria.
Roccaporena is a small and picturesque medieval village located a few kilometers from Cascia, in Umbria, and famous for being the birthplace of Santa Rita. In the heart of Roccaporena is the birthplace of Santa Rita, today an important pilgrimage point, where visitors can learn about the saint's life and her deep bond with the territory. The house has been transformed into a small museum, which collects objects related to his life and spirituality. In Roccaporena there is also the Sanctuary of Santa Rita, which includes the convent where the saint spent part of her youth and the small church that houses some relics attributed to her. Another significant place is the cave of Santa Rita, a natural refuge where the saint retired in prayer and meditation.

We had the most wonderful day in Cascia and Assisi with Giuseppe, our guide, and Valentino, our driver. They both went out of their way to make us comfortable and to show us the best of Umbria. We toured some of the most special and holy sites and learned about the real lives of St. Rita, St. Clare, and St. Francis, and we got to see the tomb of St. Carlo Acutis as well. A private guide was waiting for us in Assisi to give us every detail about the history of the city, its cathedrals, and its art. We learned so much! There was plenty of time for rest stops, shopping, and a delicious lunch recommended by Giuseppe. The van was very comfortable and Valentino was a fantastic driver, especially in the holiday traffic. We are so very glad we chose this tour and this company and will definitely use them again when we come back to Italy.
We took the tour to Assisi and Cascia in Spanish with Federica and Maximo. It was truly very good. Very beautiful places, and we had time to visit the sanctuaries and where the saints are. We also had the company of a local guide in Assisi. Thank you, I know it is quite a lot for one day, but it was worth it.
The tour was great! It’s quite a long drive but was so worth it. The van was clean and comfortable to be in despite the long drive. Max, our driver was nice and professional. Simone, our tour guide was wonderful.

Our St. Francis tour who gave us the whole story of St. Francis of Assisi and a Blessed Carlo Acutis was Mark. He is one of the best English your guide in our list. Clear in everything he explains. Very caring and warm too. This tour is our culminating tour of our Family Lenten pilgrimage. We've been to Lourdes, Black Madonna in Montserrat, Fatima in Lisbon, Rome for the Easter Mass, Papal Audience. Visited Padre Pio. Of cour, to pay our respect and visit to Papa Francesco! It was a very deep, meaningful experience for our family. Giulio was very sweet and kind. Assisted us so well and explained whatever he can share to us since we boarded the van.
