Stroll past the Forum of Augustus and the Forum of Julius Caesar (visible from Via dei Fori Imperiali) to experience ambition, betrayal, and empire-building drama. Admire Trajan’s Column (Piazza Venezia) and the Arch of Septimius Severus, then finish with a breathtaking panorama over the Roman Forum. With a professional guide and small groups (max 15), enjoy cooler evening air, fewer crowds, and immersive storytelling that brings Rome’s dark history to life. Walk in the footsteps of emperors, imagine ancient conspiracies, and capture unforgettable photos of iconic ruins. Note: All stops are viewed from the exterior only. (Exterior view only) Stand outside the world’s most famous arena and hear stories of gladiators, executions, and even naval battles. You won’t go inside, but the close-up view and dramatic tales bring Rome’s history vividly to life.
(Exterior view only) Step outside Augustus’ grand forum and learn how he used marble and stone as propaganda to shape Roman identity.
(Exterior view only, from Via dei Fori Imperiali) See the ruins of Julius Caesar’s forum, including temple columns and the Temple of Venus Genetrix. You won’t go inside, but its history and ambition are easy to imagine from the street.
(Exterior view only – Piazza Venezia) Admire Trajan’s Column from the outside and follow its spiraling carvings that tell stories of conquest and propaganda, standing tall in the heart of Trajan’s Forum.
(Exterior view only – Via dell'Arco di Settimio) See the Arch of Septimius Severus from the outside, with carvings depicting military victories and dynastic ambition, standing proudly at the entrance to the Roman Forum.

We went with Carpe Diem for a tour on the night of our arrival in Rome. It turned out to be a fantastic idea.
