Ponte 25 de Abril, crossing the Tagus River, providing the exit and the entrance to Lisbon, inaugurated in 1966, being the project of the same company that built the Golden Gate bridge in S. Francisco in the United States, so they are so similar. As a curiosity, the Lisbon bridge is longer, you can not walk on the bridge and on the lower board the bridge has the train line;
The city of navigators! Sagres or the Promontorium Sacrum. This location evokes the memory of the Infante D. Henrique and the Portuguese discoveries. The southwesternmost point in the European continent, was already referred to in antiquity as the Promontorium Sacrum, encompassing the area from the Ponta da Piedade to the Cape of São Vicente and from the cape to the beach of Arrifana. A buttressed fortress was built in the 15th century by the Infante D. Henrique, who died here in 1460. The presence of this fortress endowed Sagres with a unique role in the history of Portugal, integrating it within the imaginary universe of the Portuguese discoveries and conferring international recognition to the site. In addition to the spectacular panorama over the sea and the Cape of São Vicente it is still possible to recognize constructions such as the cistern tower, a windbreak wall, the former dwellings and a barracks and the old parish church of Nossa Senhora da Graça.One of the main attractions for visitors is the huge compass-rose marked on the ground, measuring 43 metres in diameter. Due to its strategic position on the Portuguese coast, the site has a long history, including the attack by the corsair, Francis Drake in 1587, when the Kingdom of Portugal was under the dominion of King Filipe III of Spain. During the 1990s, the site was subject to an architectural intervention, by the Oporto-based architect, João Carreira, resulting in the creation of a Temporary Exhibitions area, Multimedia Centre, shops and cafetaria.
Cape S. Vicente and its lighthouse The fortress is part of the defensive system built for the protection of the Algarve coastline. This particular site was used by Prince Henry the Navigator as a place of retreat. Cabo de São Vicente is a cape located in the extreme southwest of mainland Portugal, in the parish of Sagres, municipality of Vila do Bispo. It is 4 km west and 3 km north of Ponta de Sagres, the ancient Roman "Promontorium Sacrum", dedicated to the god Saturn, and home to an ancient visitable fortress.
With fishing boats practically hiding its small area of sand, Benagil Beach is located on one of the prettiest stretches of Algarve coastline, with its truncated cliffs and spurs forming grottoes and caverns. With its calm sea, this area is ideal for boat trips taking you out to deserted beaches, unreachable by land, where the peace is such it becomes hard to assimilate.
The Benagil algar is one of the most famous ocean caves in the world. It attracts millions of tourists every year, and is the main attraction in the Algarve, Portugal. From boating to kayaking to Benagil, you'll find the best option! The algar de Benagil is one of the biggest natural attractions of southern Portugal, Algarve region. This region is known to be a paradise summer land. Filled with amazing beaches, top quality golf courses and the best restaurants, the Algarve is the best European vacation destination. Having been cited on numerous international newspapers such as the Huffington Post, which considered this attraction one of the 5 most beautiful places in the world, Benagil's caves are very popular. Benagil's algar is in a small, traditional fishing village called Benagil , next to the beach of Benagil. Located in the municipality of Lagos and right in the center of the Algarve. When it comes to the reach of Benagil Cave, there are many different options, tailored to each person's preferences. You can take a boat, a kayak, a stand up paddle (SUP) or even swim alone! However, swimming can be tricky if you do not have good fitness. In summer peak is also not recommended due to all the boat traffic at the entrance of the caves. Boat trips to the Benagil algar are one of the most comfortable ways to get there. You can choose from full day barbecue tours or 2 hour tours.

The longest tour we’ve taken to see nothing. The goal was to get into Benagil cave by boat. According to the driver, when we get to the Algarve, he would call some main number to get us tickets. We drove all the way there, and were told that the water was too high as if boat were not operating. When we insisted, we were taken to this back way to see the cave from the top. And plenty of boat were coming in. This tour is a scam!!
Firstly, I'm sorry that you didn't fully enjoy the tour. Secondly, I ask that you be careful in your words when you say that our tour is a scam, because it is not and it is at the top of our sales and customers are satisfied. As for the boat trip, as you know, it is not included in our tour, it is an option, because many clients do not want to go to sea for various reasons, or, as was your case, the maritime authorities have not authorized commercial tours. of boats and that's why the boats didn't leave, or do you think that the operators preferred to keep the boats anchored instead of taking customers out on the boats and making money? What do you think? Yes, you saw boats arriving, private boats of people who have their own boats and ignored the authorities' warnings, but whoever transports customers has to be responsible and not put the lives of customers at risk, human life comes first and do money comes later, are we clear about that? In fact, our driver even took photos and videos of the day using a drone.
Our tour guide was great and helped us to get a boat ride to go inside the sea caves and made us a reservation art a fabulous sea side resturant for a quick bite for lunch - long drive from Lisbon but worth is must do the boat ride inside tho, that was the best part of the trip - the Sea caves are depending on the time of year and you go in quickly because so many people want to see them too so crowded but beautiful
Thank you very much for your words, it is always a source of pride when our clients like our work.
My tour guide, John was quite amicable. He made the drive even more pleasurable with his fantastic choice of music, interesting conversation and information about various sites along the way. The drive to Algarve region from Lisbon was quite scenic. The landscape and scenery along the drive were beautiful. There were orange orchards, olive orchards and Cork Oaks groves, including one recently harvested cork oak grove along the way. One of the main highlights of the drive was the groups of huge White Stork nests in electrical transmission towers along the highway. The view of the Portuguese coastline from the boat ride on the way to the Benagil caves from Portimão was magnificent. The boat captain and the docent were excellent at their jobs, and quite lovely young ladies as well. All in all, it was an excellent and rewarding tour.

Of course the guide had much to do with our experience and would have been beautiful to visit Lagos and the caves with a different guide and not on a day trip
We are sorry that you did not enjoy our tour as much as you would like, but I did not understand your comment, could you say in your opinion what we could have done better or differently? Thank you.
