Itinerary
Our Sicilian adventure begins with a journey through the island’s world-class wines. Renowned for its bold and expressive flavors, Sicily invites us to indulge in signature varietals like the robust Nero d’Avola, the smooth and spicy Cerasuolo di Vittoria, and the earthy elegance of Etna reds, born from volcanic soil. With each sip, we’re swept into the heart of Sicilian culture, surrounded by the lively buzz of Taormina’s piazzas, colorful facades, and sun-drenched streets. Alongside the wine, enjoy a handpicked selection of Sicilian cold cuts and cheeses. Cured with local herbs and spices, the meats offer bold, Mediterranean flavors, perfectly complemented by cheeses like sharp Pecorino Siciliano and the nutty, smooth Caciocavallo. Together, they capture the true essence of Sicily’s rich culinary heritage.
Next on the tasting journey is the iconic arancino, a golden, crispy rice ball filled with delicious surprises like savory ragù, melted cheese, or tender peas. Crunchy on the outside and bursting with flavor inside, it’s a perfect bite of Sicilian comfort. This stop is located near the ancient Greek Theatre of Taormina, one of the town’s most iconic landmarks, adding a touch of history to your culinary journey.
You’ll also savor the authentic Focaccia Messinese, a soft, aromatic Sicilian bread topped with juicy tomatoes, briny olives, and sweet onions, all infused with fragrant local herbs. It’s a warm, flavorful bite that perfectly showcases the heart of traditional Sicilian baking.
No visit to Taormina is complete without indulging in the iconic Cannolo Siciliano, a crisp, golden shell filled with sweet ricotta and topped with delights like pistachios, chocolate chips, or candied fruit. Prefer something refreshing? Try a traditional granita, Sicily’s famous semi-frozen dessert, bursting with flavors like lemon, almond, or coffee. Whether creamy or icy, it’s a sweet finale that captures the soul of Sicilian dessert culture.

Wir haben die Foodtour in Taormina mit Mariella gebucht. Vielen Dank an dieser Stelle an Mariella. Es hat wirklich Spaß gemacht und neben sehr leckerem und reichlichem Essen. It a Foodtour, not a Tastingtour! 😅 Wir haben außerdem einen Eindruck von Taormina erhalten mit interessanten Hintergrundgeschichten und hübschen Ecken und Ausblicken. We booked the food tour in Taormina with Mariella. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Mariella. It was great fun and, as well as enjoying some delicious and plentiful food, we got a real feel for Taormina thanks to some interesting background stories.
Mariella was a great guide and my family of 4 had a great time
Great tour, good and a lot of traditional Sicilian food and above all an engaging and dedicated tour guide Simona. The tour is also recommended because you get acquainted with good dining places outside the dense tourist track. Good food and good local wine are included.
3 things to know about this tour !!! Our guide was so kind. It was refreshing to talk to someone mature after we had a nightmare experience and uncaring guide when we booked an expensive tour at the Vatican the day before through the Get-your-guide app .. 2. The streets during June peak season are insane. It is hot and you won’t be able to hear unless you are close to the guide. There are no ear mics 3. We had a mini wine tasting at stop #2. Tried an amazing cherry wine. I’ve learned with two completely different guide experiences back to back and with different vendors that it all depends on the temperament of your guide. I was lucky to have a contrasting experience to remember this and sometimes you get a stif. But not with this particular program. I’m a huge fan! Just hard to hear in the crowds sometimes.
A very nice way to spend the evening with Simona as our guide. The highlights were the grocery store with wine, cheese and cold meats made all the more special by the energy and interest of the owner and a serenade by the local street singers. Roberto’s cannoli was also great fun. One improvement would be that the food can be quite heavy with both the large arancina and the focaccia - all 7 in the group struggled to enjoy the last stages. Perhaps a lighter option for 3rd stop would be better. Grazie Simona!
Great walking tour of Taormina with stops for local food. Mariella was very knowledgable and friendly. All of the stops were interesting and the different food types were explained.
Our guide Adelle was very knowledgeable about history of the area and the food. Be prepare to eat a good amount of food. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
We had such a great tour today with Ketty! She was so kind, patient and professional, despite a challenging group - my friend had health issues and couldn’t complete the tour, while another group of attendees decided they didn’t want to eat, and would rather go shopping! By the end of the tour it was just me and Ketty, and she gave me a personal tour of the last two stops! She’s very knowledgeable about the food and history of the town. This tour had a great variety of delicious food and wines, and ends with a chance to make your own cannoli. Don’t miss it if you come to Taormina!
Allegra was a sensational guide - lots of food and great to get off the Main Street and try traditional dishes.
Excellent, better than I expected. Excellent food , walking tour. Saw areas i hadn't seen before, places i hadn't tried for food and wine. Liked the local flavors of all stops.
