Having visited the colesseum previously, without a guide, I was absolutely pleased with the standard of the guide, the information provided and his indepth knowledge and delivery of his tour. Although the tour was only for the exteria of the colessium the guide ensured we received a high level of information ready for entry to the colessium. After the tour the guide dropped us off at the ticket office and we gained our tickets within 3 minutes. This tour is well worth undertaking and good value for money.
Tour guide had great knowledge of the venue and its history. Although only an exterior tour, still recommend.

Unprofessional. Not recommended. We arrived on time, no clear instructions and when I managed to contact them they already left. No refund was provided and no explanation. When I called finally and they replied they said they couldnt do anything.
The meeting instructions, exact meeting point, and required arrival time were clearly provided in advance. For this experience, participants were asked to arrive at 1:45 PM for the 2:00 PM departure. Our team remained at the meeting point until 2:05 PM to allow additional time for late arrivals. However, contact from your side was received around 2:30 PM, after the tour had already departed and could no longer be delayed. As the experience operated as scheduled and the service was available at the designated time and location, this does not qualify for a refund under the booking conditions. We understand your frustration, but there were clear instructions provided and additional waiting time was given before departure.
extremely, disappointing, i was sent to the wrong meeting point with no one to contact, once i got hold of someone they put the phone down on me and didn't contact me back. please avoid this tour. 100% missing the tour i paid for. with no refund
We would like to clarify a few important points regarding this review. The meeting point details were clearly provided on the voucher before the tour, including the exact location and arrival instructions. According to our records, contact was made approximately 15 minutes after the scheduled tour start time, and at that moment you were not at the designated meeting point. To assist, the contact number of the staff member waiting at the meeting point was provided and communication was established. Unfortunately, the group had already departed and it was not possible to delay the tour or arrange rejoining once it had started. The tour operated as scheduled and the meeting instructions were available in advance, which is why we are unable to agree with the statement that incorrect information was provided.
Definitely read the fine print! Many were very disappointed. The ticket is advertised as a tour of the Colosseum. In the hidden lines or detailed description, it states that it is only a walking tour around the Colosseum! This was pointed out when we were there again. Yes, it was mentioned in the detailed description, but you really have to click through to find it! Some simply left, others expected something completely different, so I was not the only one who thought that way. Buy the ticket directly at the counter and save yourself this walking tour around the Colosseum! Waste

Not worth it. Read the advert before you buy, you do NOT get access to the Colosseum, a tour with a guide who likes his own voice and comedic value more than any history and educational value. At the end, they tell you: there’s the queue if you’re lucky to be able to buy tickets on the day. Top tip for the guide: “it’s not all about you… and no, o don’t want a food and drink recommendation on the short trip!”
We agree with one part of your review — reading the listing before booking is important. The tour title clearly states that this is an exterior Colosseum experience and the description specifies in multiple places that entry tickets are not included. This experience is intended as a guided outdoor introduction to the Colosseum and surrounding area, not an interior visit, and that is exactly what was provided. Regarding your comment about ticket availability, nobody stated that guests could enter “if they were lucky.” Guests who wish to visit inside the Colosseum can purchase entry tickets separately, as clearly explained in the booking details. Access is not based on luck. As for the guiding style, we understand that preferences vary — some guests enjoy a more conversational and entertaining approach, while others prefer a more history-focused experience.
The title of this tour is deceiving. You will not visit the Colosseum!!! You will see from the street the Fori Imperiali and the guide explains them. The guide was very entertaining; I think it is not his fault that this is a real scam! If you want to see the Colosseun you have to make a long long line and buy separate tickets. Forget this it is not worthwhile.

Calling something a “scam” simply because the included services were not read before booking is unfair and misleading to future travelers. This tour is designed as an outdoor guided experience focused on the Colosseum and the Imperial Fora area, which is exactly what was delivered. Regarding the queue mentioned in the review, on that day waiting times were unusually long due to issues with the ticketing/access system and this was not representative of normal operations. Guests who wish to visit inside the Colosseum can purchase a separate entry ticket, as stated in the booking details.
We met the guide at the location and the tour started on time. We paid £44 for a tour of the outside of the colosseum. I would advise you to double check what you are booking as we were under the impression it was an inside tour, i initally felt frustrated that I had not read the details properly, but this wasnt for long as the tour was fantastic. It was only a small group and the guide was so knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic. This made such a difference as it made us engage with everything he was talking about. He took us to a small church, what he described as a hidden gem, and well worth the visit. Inside the church was an original mosaic of jesus and his apostles, which dated back to 6AD, it was breathtaking and i would highly reccommend. I would not hesitate in recommending this tour to anyone who is interested in booking this to gain insght into its history. A little tip, if you book Sunday, the admission fees for the tour inside the colosseum are free, there maybe a queue thou!!
