We booked on the Vatican’s official website, with a guide in Spanish, and were lucky enough to have Paola Locci. Excellent guide, who was able to describe in great detail every corner of the tour, demonstrating his passion for what he said. Importantly, it made us all more interested in the information delivered.
Booking info did not include requirement to download a third-party audio app in advance. Once inside we spent the first 30+ minutes unsuccessfully trying to download the app to access the audio tour. Efforts to call customer support were met with a loop recording that they were experiencing a high volume of calls and they’d get us eventually (never did). We ended up going through without benefit of the audio tour. And “skip the line” tickets? Not so much - we were required to get at the end of the (long) line with all the other folks with tickets. Recommendation: Don’t waste your money with this vendor. Buy your tickets elsewhere and simply use the audio tour available once inside.
So many tour choices how do you pick one? I was delighted to have successfully chosen such a wonderful company with a small group experience. We loved Tomas' contagious enthusiasm and passion for the history of Rome and were fortunate to have him guide us through both the Vatican and Colosseum. Wonderful communication throughout the process. My husband and I would highly recommend
