We had a wonderful time on the Moana Catamaran! There were five of us together, and it was such a nice experience to share with family. The boat wasn't overcrowded, which made the trip feel comfortable and relaxing. There were enough people to create a fun atmosphere, but it never felt packed. The crew was fantastic—everyone was friendly, attentive, and constantly checking on guests to make sure everyone had what they needed. One thing I appreciated was the vibe. This wasn't a loud party cruise—it was much more laid-back. You can sit back, enjoy the music, take in the beautiful ocean views, spend quality time with the people you came with, or even chat with other guests if you're feeling social. Going into it, I thought it would be similar to some other sunset cruises I've been on where the crew points out landmarks and shares interesting facts about the skyline or buildings along the way. This cruise didn't focus on narration, but honestly, once I realized the goal was simply to relax and enjoy the moment, I really appreciated that style. The sunset was absolutely beautiful and made for incredible photos. It was the perfect way to unwind after a busy day of exploring Oʻahu. If you're looking for a peaceful, scenic sunset sail with a friendly crew, great music, and a relaxing atmosphere, I definitely recommend the Moana Catamaran.
It was cool. All we did was a boat trip out and back with dribkies but that is exactly what we signed up for.
I don’t know how this is rated as four stars. This is the rudest sunset cruise I have ever been on. First I pay for VIP, receive a text to arrive at 4:15 and no one is around. Then at 4:35 they start getting the catamaran ready. Leena was especially rude. We were to board first and have unlimited drinks, within reason. We board, take our seat and receive our first drink. Everyone else boards 10 min later. We received our first drink while waiting for everyone to board. (We were told when we boarded if we wanted any drinks to just ask). We asked for our second drink while the rest of the guests were getting settled and we were told NO. We waited and got out on the water and asked for another drink - our second drink after the rest of the 50 people were taken care of. What’s the point of paying for VIP if we don’t get VIP service. They came around and we asked for one more. That would make 3 (very watered down drinks). After that they never came back around, and ignored us the rest of the 70 min cruise. Mind you we were simply sitting on the nets. There was no engagement, the music was lame and quiet. I would not ever recommend this cruise. Find a different company!
We had a great evening ride and have many positive thoughts to share. First of all check-in was very well organized, and for those of us that didn’t have the waivers signed, they had a QR code and the ability for us to upload it easily. , instructions about removing shoes was also clear. The crew was friendly and interacted with all of us… Willing to take photos, refresh our delicious drinks, and ensure everybody’s comfort. The boat was definitely not overcrowded and everyone had a place to sit or hang out. They provided very clear instructions a few hours before check-in and indicated that people could bring their own food and beverages if they liked. You could not bring your alcohol, but you could bring other beverages. So all in all, not a luxurious sunset sale but a very comfortable and pleasant one. We sailed almost the entire time. They did motor when it was time to get close to the dock upon our return.
First off, this is not an excursion that you do for the experience itself but more of a nice, relaxing couple hours on a catamaran. I traveled solo so I found a nice spot and just enjoyed the ride. We headed out from the dock and the view of Honolulu didn't change much from the start to the finish but you get a great view of the skyline including Diamond Head. Towards the end of the ride, the staff set up the catamaran so everyone would have a great view of the sunset. The staff was great and the ride was smooth.
So much fun! A must do on your trip.
My husband and are elderly and I use a cane. The staff was incredibly kind and took very good care of us. The boat is beautiful and the sea was gorgeous! The drinks were the best we had in the whole trip!
We had a wonderful time on this excursion. The staff was great! Our grandkids had a blast! I would do this again.
Don't wear a dress that blows up in the wind! Otherwise so great. A wonderful end to our trip to Oahu.
Absolutely had the best time, music was amazing, crew was so fun to be around. Drinks were greatly priced too! I would absolutely recommend to anyone who’s coming to Hawaii!
