We'll discuss the relationship of Andy Warhol to religion at this church - which he attended regularly with his mother when he lived in his first townhouse around the corne
Andy Warhol bought a townhouse for himself, his mother, and a lot of cats on Lexington Avenue in 1960. A little later that year he rented a studio space around the corner and began to create more and more art with more and more assistance.
After a brief subway ride we'll look at the historically more fashionable section of Park Avenue. We'll see the townhouse used in the movie Breakfast at Tiffanys, the homes of Swans like Slim Keith and of Superstars like Edie Sedgewick.
Our final stop is to discuss the Black and White Ball at the Plaza Hotel. Truman Capote threw the "Party of the Century" to celebrate the publication of In Cold Blood and invited all the most interesting people in the world, including Andy Warhol

its a great way to explore the upper eastside with a unique angle and point of view. There are lots for things to see on the tour and discoveries to make along the way. Plus a subway ride as part of the tour: a great introduction to the system with a real newyorker. it was nice to end of at central park. i loved all the NYC gossip and insider stories.
