saint Peter’s is beuatiful, ofcorse, however in our opinion, the tour was not worth it. we booked very early on the same day, as this was our first time in rome, and description mentioned that this will be a guided tour with guided enterance, but this was not the case. it was easy to find the office wich was the meeting point. we entered and got asked our names to be writen on the sheet. office staff gave us pages with QR codes and we realised that this was an audio tour. exactly same audio tour that is free to access by anyone in Saint Peter’s home page. the guided entry was a man showing us line to online booking line wich is faster than the entry line if you buy ticket by entrance. The bigest dispaontmnet was the lack of clear information, nowhere in the booking site it said that the tour was audio, and as it was our first time, we were expecting a person guided tour. Additionaly, why taking of the names? Because the audio guide link is free source from Vaticans official site. Perhaps we didnt read or undertsnad someting at the time of booking, however we had the chace to talk to some people in the line and they all felt the same, very little infmation and undertsanding apart from “stay in this line and you will get in in approx 20 minutes, rather than 40 minutes”. For the info - we were waiting in line for 45 minutes in total to get to the entrance as it was a nice and busy day. But it was fatser that the main line. positive thing i can say is that the booking process was very easy and office was easy to find.
Clearance with admission, however, guide only to the entrance check. Then nothing. I also received a link to the website. Nothing else. Unfortunately not good. I then did exploration myself, alone.
Very good as we skipped a very long queue and the staff were very helpful. Easy to find the meeting point too
The guide was excelent. cant remember her name but it was an italian woman, who was very kind and very knowlable
This was a wonderful tour and our tour guide Anna was absolutely amazing and was very knowledgeable about so many facts about the history of the Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica. She had a great personality. I would definitely recommend.
