Tour Options
Itinerary
Your experience starts with hotel pick-up in New Orleans. Travel along the river to reach your destination in the swamps.
On this tour you will experience the best of both worlds: a swamp tour and an airboat ride. You will travel at high speeds in the airboat then slow down and stop for pictures. Along the way, you will get a personal tour by your local Captain. These airboats have stadium seating so the person in front of you does not obstruct your view. Every seat is great for viewing the wildlife. Yes, gators will get close - real close! Alligators do hibernate in the colder months, but the experienced captains know where to look for them. On average, during the winter, you have better than a 50/50 chance of seeing a gator. In the warmer months, you will always see a gator. You may also see bald eagles, pelicans, osprey, or owls. Airboats reach speeds of up to 35 miles an hour, and are propelled by a huge fan that will blow air from the back of the boat in excess of 200 miles an hour. These tours are truly a blast! They ride in inches of water and go places where traditional boats cannot go.

From start to finish this was a fantastic trip. Our bus driver was great. She gave us quite a bit of history of NOLA during our ride to the swamp. Check is was quick and easy. Captain Rocky gave us a fun airboat ride. We saw more than a dozen gators and rode through some very interesting plant life.
Magical walk, with a guide who shows his attachment to his land and who is fantastic.
Fun, interesting with being surrounded by beautiful scenery and plenty of alligators. Our family loved the experience
What a blast! My adult son and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire visit. The high speed was a thrill, while at slower speeds, you can just absorb the views of the swamp Pickup at our hotel was super convenient. Our caption was Ernie and he was terrific! Do NOT book via T Advisor. Such a hassle! I would recommend booking direct.
Great Tour with professional pickup right at my hotel front and drop off. Lorraine was a very enthusiastic driver to the bayou and she gave us local insights along the way. She really seems to care about her job and the people she meets. This company has the option for small airboat tours of only 9 people on a boat and I highly recommend using the small boat option. It may be slightly more expensive, but it’s more intimate and tailored to the group you’re with plus you get to maneuver into smaller areas versus the larger boats in overall it’s just more bespoke can’t say enough about Captain Ernie not only was he very knowledgeable about the Bayou. He gave us local insights that only somebody with 10 generations on the swamp could give you in some real world facts about what’s happening to the destruction of the wetland that really make you think over the hour and a half. I was on the swamp. I saw at least two dozen gators on top of local birds and all sorts of other wildlife. The best part of the whole trip was going to the original Cypress Bayou, and seeing the stark difference between what it was and what it has become overall I felt like this was a worthwhile morning for my trip to New Orleans with equal parts, excitement learnings, and overall local flare. I would recommend this to anybody, especially a solar traveler like myself who wants to attack on something interesting to a work trip.
Great swamp tour, shout out to capt Ernie who was a fantastic guide.
Incredible experience and our guide (sorry, forgot his name) was very knowledgeable and got us up close to some big gators. Would highly recommend this tour (small boat).
A very enjoyable tour! I didn't really know what to expect but this airboat tour was really good fun, entertaining and informative. Our guide, Captain Bebo, was excellent - funny, knowledgeable and clearly very proud of this ecosystem. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone, particularly if you are undecided!
Bus pick-up was seamless and our driver was friendly and entertaining! The real show stopper was our air boat tour guide, Captain Bee Bop. He was super knowledgeable, funny, and has a gator friend that he visits regularly on his tours. The gator was so familiar with him that he hung out with us for quite awhile. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and the air boat ride was super fun. I liked the small group option a lot because we all got great seats and views of the gators as they swam by us. Would absolutely recommend this tour!
I was not sure when booking if we would have a good time or not but am happy to say it was by far the best tour I have done in years. Captain Bebo did a great job and I would do the small group airboat again.
