Itinerary
Meeting Point: The meeting point is our office, very close to the Museums' entrance, the exact address is Via Santamaura 14B. The closest Metro stop is Ottaviano. Please allow extra time due to traffic during the summer months! If you do need assistance with how to reach the meeting point, please don't hesitate to contact us.
We continue our visit entering Vatican City, the smallest country in the world. Encircled by a 2-mile border with Italy, Vatican City is an independent city-state that covers just over 100 acres, making it one-eighth the size of New York’s Central Park. Vatican City is governed as an absolute monarchy with the pope at its head. The Vatican mints its own euros, prints its own stamps, issues passports, licenses plates operates media outlets and has its own flag and anthem. One government function it lacks: taxation. Museum admission fees, stamp and souvenir sales, and contributions generate the Vatican’s revenue.
The Vatican Museums feature many works of art that belonged to the different Popes and are full of artistic beauty. Here is a glimpse of some of the most beautiful things to see in the Vatican Museums. Rooms and Galleries of the Vatican Museums, as the Greek Cross Room, the Gallery of Maps, the Gallery of Tapestries, and much more! These collections have been piled up over the course of centuries through acquisitions, donations, commissions, confiscations, and quite often lucky discoveries from underground Rome and not only.
Admire the breathtaking Sistine Chapel of Michelangelo! The most famous section of the Sistine Chapel ceiling is Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam. This scene is located next to the Creation of Eve, which is the panel at the center of the room, and the Congregation of the Waters, which is closer to the altar. Not everything was done by Michelangelo and your expert guide will be able to point that out. This proves just how great artists, even little known, left their marks in these magic locations. This is the right time to discover that!
If you thought the size of the Vatican Museums was overwhelmingly spectacular, St. Peter’s Basilica takes the “wow factor” to another level. The sheer capacity of the interiors is enough to leave any visitor searching for words to describe its vastness. At 613 feet long, 85 feet wide and 147 feet high, it took an incredible 120 years to build, starting from 1506. Admire Michelangelo’s unparalleled Pietà masterpiece and stroll towards the center-right nave to observe Bernini’s 30-foot high bronze Baldachin, which sits directly atop the site of St. Peter’s tomb.
A visit to Vatican City would not be complete without standing in awe of the beauty in St. Peter’s Square, also known as Piazza San Pietro. This massive square framing St. Peter’s Basilica is the location where the pope holds Wednesday General Audiences and special masses on religious holidays.

We absolutely loved our tour! Just the right sized group. So informative and our guide Maria was so knowledgeable and helpful. I would highly recommend this tour.
Our group had Eugene as our guide. He was phenomenal. I’m solo backpacking around the world and hands down best tour to date. Very knowledgeable and didn’t waste our time as I noticed other tour guides doing with their groups. I watched as he would look ahead choke points where crowds gathered and instead of hurrying to wait it the next line, he paced the group and talked more. Great situational awareness, thoughtfulness, extremely knowledgeable and amazing guide. Highly recommend if you can book with him.
Absolutely amazing experience. The tour was better than advertised! Our tour guide, Manuela, was simply outstanding. She had a deep knowledge of the Vatican and all sites we visited. She did a good job of balancing seeing the sights with need to navigate thru numerous groups. She also was very helpful and accommodating to our group which had two young kids. She did a great job of explaining the rationale and interesting tidbits about the paintings and other items in the museums. Highly recommend this tour!
Unfortunately, my wife got very sick, but your staff was amazing. Have left her side provided assistance however they could. Unfortunately, her name I forget right now sure, it’s on my paperwork, but she was from Russia and she was wonderful.
If crowds on a hot day bother you then pass. However, the skip the line option is worth every penny.
Daniella Was a fantastic tour guide she made the tour of Vatican engaging and interesting and told the story well! Very knowledgeable lady thank you Daniella from Luke & Grace

A wonderful and informative experience. Definitely better to book an early start time as the Vatican quickly gets VERY busy after 10am. Our guide Ahjan was a real gem, super informative, with a great sense of humor which made the day much easier considering the crowds and 100 degree weather. Skipping lines also a big plus. Be advised the Sistine chapel is insanely crowded. Find a seat along the sides if possible to really enjoy the artwork as the museum staff is constantly trying to push people thru. Again, an early reservation will help here. Overall, highly recommended given the information shared throughout the tour.
Dear PRaum, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review and for trusting us with your Vatican experience! Our guides do an amazing job of sharing their wealth of knowledge with guests, and with the incredible history and treasures the Vatican holds, there is truly so much to discover. We’re delighted to hear that you appreciated Ahjan’s insights and found the tour informative and engaging. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with him! Regarding the flow of the tour, the Vatican custodians are there for numerous reasons, one of which is to help ensure that visitors continue moving through the museums and that there are no prolonged standstills in any particular area. Our guides are required to follow their directives and instructions while navigating the museums. That said, our guides do a wonderful job of providing guests with ample time to appreciate each location, often finding great vantage points where you can take in the incredible works on display! As you rightly mentioned, our early morning tour option allows guests to be among the first visitors to enter the Vatican, which often means fewer crowds and cooler conditions, making for a much more comfortable experience. Thank you again for your kind words and for your high recommendation; it truly means a great deal to us! Wishing you safe travels ahead and all the very best. We’d be delighted to welcome you back on another adventure should your travels bring you back to Rome! Kind regards, Carima
