Seoul: Small Group Cheorwon DMZ Tour with Lunch

Description

Most DMZ tours stop at Paju. This one goes deeper — to Cheorwon, where the Korean War burned the hottest. Cheorwon sits at the edge of one of the world's last remaining Cold War frontlines. Few travelers make it here. We keep our groups small on purpose, so you get closer access, a more personal experience with your guide, and the space to let this place actually sink in. What You'll Experience Descend into the 2nd Infiltration Tunnel — dug through solid granite by North Korea and discovered in 1975. Then head to the observation deck for an unobstructed view straight into North Korea. Sit down for a healthy Korean lunch — seasonal vegetable bibimbap, naturally plant-based and vegan-friendly. End the day on the Han-tan River Y-shaped suspension bridge — 410 meters long, Korea's longest — with the gorge and river spread out below. Passport required for all DMZ tours. Tours operate rain or shine. DMZ access is subject to military regulations and may change without notice.

Superb experience!

We had an incredible experience visiting the DMZ, made even more memorable by our guide, Sam. His knowledge of Korean history, the Korean War, and the unique realities of life on the Korean Peninsula was truly impressive. He explained complex historical events in a way that was engaging, insightful, and easy to understand. What stood out most was Sam’s patience and willingness to answer every question our group had. Beyond the facts and history, he shared fascinating perspectives on everyday life in Korea, giving us a much deeper appreciation of the country and its people. Sam's passion for his work was evident throughout the tour, and his storytelling brought the sites we visited to life. We left with a far greater understanding of Korea's past and present than we ever expected. We would highly recommend Sam to anyone visiting the DMZ—he made the experience both educational and unforgettable.

Wonderful Experience

The tour was very nice and very interesting. We did a private tour and it lasted from 7:30 to 6:00. The van came and picked us up at our hotel and drove us to each attraction. We got to overlook the DMZ area and the second tunnel. Our guide, Sam, was very nice and knew a lot about Korean history and the DMZ area. He was very helpful and always made sure we had the best experience. It was a military controlled tour so there was a limited amount of people and amount of time we could spend at each place. However the time we spent at each attraction was long enough and didn’t feel rushed. For lunch we ate at a traditional spot and it was very clean and tasty. Overall this trip for its price is completely worth doing and I recommend going with a guide like Sam so you can better understand what you are looking at.

Top experience

It was really a top experience! Our guide Chris was very professional and friendly, very thoughtful and attentive to our needs. He came to pick us up at our hotel and the trip to the DMZ was very pleasant. He told us about the history of the war but also things about Korea and it was all very interesting. The lunch was very genuine in a quiet and friendly place. I can strongly recommend this tour with Chris.

Great DMZ tour with 2nd infiltration tunnel

This was a unique DMZ tour in the Cheorwon area. It was a small your so we had personalized service from our guide Jade. She explained everything well and gave us time to see everything but also kept things moving. We enjoyed the history, the tunnel, had a great locally sourced lunch, and even got to take in a flower festival at our last stop. It was a little more expensive than other DMZ tours but it felt like you got to experience something more unique than everyone else.

Fun DMZ tour!

Amazing trip tour on the DMZ and other cool landmarks around. Overall no complaints and it was very fun. Very cheap fees and easy access to food and bathrooms. Our tour guide Jade was super friendly and easy to help translate everything for us. The tour was just under half a day. Not that bad for a fun trip. This specific tour was best for crowds that our under 10-15 people.

Great Cheorwon DMZ Tour

Our guide, Sam, was wonderful! He goes above and beyond to take care of his clients. The DMZ tour with Sam is highly recommended. Seeing North Korean post from a distance is so surreal. Ride is a bit further than the typical DMZ tour but Sam makes it entertaining, definitely worth it!
