Step out of the Victorian Arcade and enter into the hot and humid rainforest to experience what life is like beneath the tropical treetops. Winding through the roots and tree trunks, rainforest rivers are home to some spectacular fish. As you step through the roots of a giant tree an Anaconda welcomes you to her home. Follow her trail towards a mystical ruined temple and you'll come across some magical Water dragons, colorful Poison Dart Frogs, and fearsome Piranhas. As you explore the rainforest, don't forget to say hi to a group of rescued terrapins, they're waiting to meet you.  Take a seat in the beautiful Victorian auditorium built in 1872 and see the incredible 750,000-liter ocean display. Here you can get great views from above of the 3 species of sharks, rescued sea turtles, rays and tropical fish. This is where you can also board a glass bottom boat experience. Purchase a ticket at admissions at the start of your visit to get even closer to the incredible creatures. After, take a stroll under the sea as you experience the ocean display through an amazing glass tunnel. Shoals of glittering fish swim alongside you whilst the enormous Green Sea Turtles Lulu and Gulliver glide slowly over your head. Seahorses may sound like mythical creatures but you can see just how real and amazing they are. See the seahorses grip on seagrass with their curly tails and suck up tiny shrimp with their straw-like snouts; if you're lucky you may even hear their unique "finger-clicking" sounds as they feed. Find out more about seahorse breeding program at SEA LIFE Brighton. Come and meet the newest residents in a brand new display – Secrets of the Reef. Dive in and discover the tropical paradise of a Maldives Reef. Meet its most famous residents like the regal tang and clownfish and get closer than ever before in a crawl through a tunnel. Understand what threatens their future, and see how SEA LIFE is helping by working with a local community out in the Maldives to help rebuild a coral reef.  Meet the armored division of the marine world. Learn about the amazing anatomy of crabs and find out what makes them one of the most powerful predators of the seabed. The Claws exhibit hosts different crustaceans from around the world and features the Japanese spider crab, the largest arthropod in the world, with legs that can reach 12-feet across when fully grown!

Wonderful staff

When we arrived, staff were super friendly, especially to our friend who was celebrating their birthday. We did the glass bottom boat experience, where our captain for the trip Jared was exceptionally helpful in answering all our questions and was so friendly to us all during our experience and also when we saw him whilst exploring the aquarium.

GREAT EXPERIENCE

What a great time we had. We spent just over 1 hour here which was was perfect for us. We saw some amazing fish and our favourite was the big turtles we got some great pictures from our time there. We got a bargain as it was out of school holidays and their was option for cheaper entry with myself and grandson being 5. I have to add how lovely everyone was who we spoke to during our time there everyone was so friendly and took time to speak to my grandson especially the girl in the shop who was interested in Georges time at the sealife centre.

Worth the money

SEA LIFE Brighton is definitely worth the money, especially if you are taking a disabled person as you buy one ticket and the carer goes free, which is a really good bonus. There is lots to do for younger children with plenty of different experiences throughout the Sea Life Centre. The virtual reality experience was very good, especially the shipwreck experience. The young lad working on the shipwreck virtual reality was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and very open when talking to visitors, which made the experience even better. The food and drinks were okay, although a little on the expensive side, but that’s expected at most attractions. One thing I thought was really good was the ladies’ toilets having smaller children’s toilet seats, children’s sinks, and lower hand dryers, which is brilliant if you have younger children with you. The whole place has changed massively in the last 20 years since I last visited, and it has definitely improved. The staff throughout were all really nice and helpful. Obviously, the gift shop is overpriced, but that’s to be expected as attractions like this make money from merchandise. If you take your time going around, you can easily spend a good two to three hours in there. Overall, I would definitely recommend it for families and anyone visiting Brighton

Lovely aquarium

Its a great tour . We did it without tour operator. The aquarium filled with stories and their struggles to keep the aquarium open Would have loved to see dolphins . The turtles were amazing

Good

Great Aquarium, lots to see and nicely laid out in a lovely old building. Pretty reasonably priced for a family of 3. Took us close to 3 hours to have a leisurely walk round it and take it all in. The large pool with the sharks in was really spectacular to watch. Let down at the gift shop after giving my 6 year old her pocket money to pick something out and she got to the till to be told the don’t accept cash. No signs or prior warning for this left a 6 year old slightly upset not being able to have the over priced teddy she spend 10 mins deciding on. I know a lot of places are cashless now for what ever reason. Just seems silly to me that places would rather refuse legal tender and loose a sale and leave a kid in a negative on her way out after a lovely day

Ahoy! Thank you for taking the time to leave a FIN-tastic review, we really appreciate the feedback! We're so pleased to hear that you were able to spend plenty of time making the most of the centre, whether that is the beautiful Victorian architecture or meeting our fabulous fishy friends! We're sorry to hear that your daughter left feeling disheartened, unfortunately we are completely cashless on site and there are multiple signs dotted around the site, for example at admissions and at our coffee shop, however we understand this can be upsetting for younger generations as you stated. We hope to see you swim by again soon for a CRAB-ulous visit again! Best fishes, SEA LIFE Brighton

Lovely day out

Took my 18 month old and she loved it! Very calm environment, lots of cool things to look at, our favourite was dotty the zebra shark, had some nice photos done and did the see through bottom boat ride with Alex who was excellent, she told us lots of interesting facts and made the experience even better! Price wasn’t too bad for Brighton, would definitely go again
