Your guide welcomes you inside the lobby at your booked accommodation in downtown Kuala Lumpur. Located approximately 11 kilometres north of Kuala Lumpur along the Sungai Batu, the comfortable ride leaves the modern city live quickly aside. Before ascending up to the Batu Caves, a stop is included at Malaysian institutions of cultural value. Batik is still found in official dress uniforms, evening and wedding gowns and worn as daily attire by many Malaysians. The cultural value of batik-painted fabric is often overshadowed by its artistic impressions yet is a deeply rooted part of preserved handicraft.
Dooming up from afar, and signalling the entrance of the Batu Caves is the gilded Murugan statue, a 42-metre tall guardian and etched in the record books as the world’s tallest Lord Murugan statue. The way up to one of the holiest Hindu pilgrimage site is taking a 272-steps counting climb upwards into the sacred centre of the caves. The origins of the Batu Caves date back to around 400 million years ago when natural elements carved out the three different caves. Each of the caves has a various paintings, statues and religious shrines for devout Hindus. Following in the footsteps of the guide, visitors will learn about the importance of the Batu Caves, its history and how the Batu Caves turn into a crowd of faithful during the festival of Thaipusam. Pick-up is available from selected hotels located within Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle area (excluding Pudu). Guests staying outside this area are requested to gather at the Berjaya Times Square main entrance, outside Starbucks, at the scheduled tour departure time. SIC pick-up from the hotel will be arranged within 15 minutes prior to the scheduled tour departure time. Guests are requested to be ready and waiting at the hotel lobby entrance for the driver.

- To enter the Batu Caves, customers are required to follow a certain dress code. This religious site does not allow customers entering the caves wearing short skirts / shorts that do not cover the knees or sleeveless shirts / tops.
- We always will make efforts to confirm the exact pick-up time upon reservation. For any operational issues in which are not able to confirm the exact pick-up time in advance, we reserve the right to inform you the day before the departure of the tour.

- Please ensure that you bring sunglasses, a hat /cap and sunblock with a high SPF factor when traveling with us on this tour – even when it is cloudy, the sunrays still have an immense power.
- It is the responsibility of the customer to provide us with the correct hotel information, should pick-up and drop-off services be included in the package. Any changes in accommodation outside 24 hours will be handled accordingly: changes within 24 hours may be on request.
- We recommend wearing light, comfortable cotton clothing and comfortable shoes. The Batu Caves are closed for visitors during the first 2 days of Chinese New Year (varies per year) and during the holy festival of Thaipusam (3 days, varies per year).
- Tour is not available during Thaipusam celebration week.
