Everything was excellent, the knowledge of the guide was really good
This tour was cancelled by the tour operator a few days before the tour took place. Initially they did not offer a rebook and offered a refund. Meanwhile I booked a new tour through the Vatican booking process, this was also a guided tour, it was almost half the price of the original tour booked. The tour operator meanwhile got in touch with me offering alternative tour times and dates or a refund, I requested a refund each time ( 4 in total) despite this I received no refund. Today I connected Trip Advisor and was speaking to a very rude operator who told me I had to contact Viator and hung up the phone. I eventually got through to Viator UK, the operator was helpful and mannerly and my refund was made almost immediately. Surely when an operator cancels a tour it should automatically refund the cost and the buyer should not have to chase this down
Tour was informative and included most of the museum. Also include the Sistine Chapel. Would recommend this tour to see all of the Vatican Museum!
Anna kept us out in the heat for nearly 45 mins - giving us a detailed (way too much info) history of the Vatican and Rome. There was far too many dates and names, most of us forgot most of it. All the other tour groups started in the same way/spot but in 10-15 mins they were on their way. It was far too hot to keep us outside teaching a history lesson. On e we finally went in to the museum ares things were better. And they did the same thing to us like many of the other reviewers and cancelled our original moring reservations and put us in the afternoon group when it was way too hot to be outside !
The guide Anna spent way too much time outside explaining the history using various photos and charts etc (about 30-40 mins). Other tour groups did the same except spent 10-15 mins, then went into the museum. By the time we went into the museum most of us were lost in all the dates and explanations and since it was very, very hot 🔥 outside, it would have been much more enjoyable if we could have moved on in 10 mins like the other groups. Once we did, it was more like a 4☆ tour.
Hot hot hot and crowded…But BEAUTIFUL!!! I’ve waited my whole life to see the Sistine Chapel and Wow!!
This was the best tour we have done in Italy so far. Fulvia was incredible. She was very knowledgeable. She was also kind and considerate of the group. She made sure to balance the time but also to make sure that we were all ok. It was a wonderful tour. We did the Vatican Museum including the Raphael Rooms (we had a choice as a group) and the Sistine Chapel. We also went to St. Peter's Basilica. Once we entered the church, the tour was over and she left but we were able to stay as long as we wanted to. The neat part was she took us a back way so we didn't have to stand in additional lines or even go outside. We loved how during the tour, she would walk a little, then stop and talk a little, then walk again. It wasn't too much at any point. It was broken down perfectly. Please be advised that it is a long tour and you will likely be very tired at the end but it was amazing and worth it!
Don't go between mid - June and August!! It's blazing hot! Luckily, my tour on 2 July was very tolerable, as it was overcast and rained! Bianca was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable, personable, accommodating and had a lovely sense of humor! I loved the experience. Highly recommend!
Waste of money - do it on your own - you cannot hear the group leader who was supposed to speak english as this was an ENGLISH SPEAKING tour - Also some people were told that we would not be able to go to St. Peters until after 2pm and our group was not and so we did not get to see this amazing place after traveling over 5000 miles. We had something already booked at 2pm and would not make it back in time before they would close at 6pm Also walking thru the chapel and halls you were moved thru like cattle or sheep and could not really enjoy the art work - very sad!
The guide, Anna Gnuzzi, was extremely knowledgeable on the Sistine Chapel & Vatican as a whole. She was indeed a SUPERSTAR! I learned so much from her which made the tour much more interesting. We stood outside in the shade where she pulled out her notebook with pictures to discuss the artwork, the situations and statues we would see along the way. The day was hot, extremely hot, but the guide did an excellent job of keeping us cool, walking through at a somber pace to ensure no one got overheated. The group was also friendly, global and social.
