You will see the Spanish Steps, the famous Trevi Fountain, where you can throw in your coin to guarantee your return to Rome, the Pantheon, the best preserved temple of the Ancient City and Piazza Navona, built on the ruins of the Emperor Domitian's stadium and now adorned by Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers. The Panorama Tour will also include stops at St. Peter's Square, Castel Sant'Angelo, the Coliseum, the Circus Maximus with the view of the Roman Imperial Palace on the Palatine Hill, the Mouth of Truth, the Aventino Hill with its famous "keyhole" at the Knights of Malta Garden, the 2000 years old Pyramid and many other famous places. This exclusive VIP Panorama Tour is an experience completely different and magical and you will see the best of Rome.
It was built in order to link the the Trinità dei Monti church that was under the patronage of the king of France, with the Spanish square below. The long, triangular Spanish square is named after the Spanish Embassy to the Holy See.
This massive piazza was laid out in 1538 to provide a grandiose entrance to what was then Rome's main northern gateway. It has since been remodelled several times, most recently by Giuseppe Valadier in 1823. In the centre, the 36m-high obelisk was brought by Augustus from ancient Egypt; it originally stood in the Circo Massimo.
The Pantheon is the best preserved ancient building in Rome and another must-see touristic attraction to add to your list! Originally dedicated to all mythology divinities, it became a Christian church in the 7th century. Inside, admire the immense dome and the oculus (the opening in the dome), giving the place a unique lighting. In the Pantheon, you can also see the tombs of Raphael (the famous artist) and Victor Emmanuel II (1st king of Italy).
The Piazza Navona is located in the heart of the historic center, not far from the Pantheon. it’s one of the most beautiful and famous square of Rome! There, you can admire the the Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers.
Enjoy the Janiculum walk, a path which goes up and down in the Janiculum park through the marmor busts of the most important fighters and heroes of the Italian Risorgimento. In the big square where the fountain is located, try to close your eyes, then open them again and you’ll see one of the most breathtaking panoramas of Rome: in the background, twelve hills. The best moment to visit “il Fontanone” is the sunset-time.
The Aventine hill is one of the original 7 hills of Rome and one of the most beautiful places in the city. Located just in front of another, most famous hill, the Palatine, the Aventine is now a wealthy, leafy residential area with some wonderful churches, beautiful streets, hidden gems and even stunning views over Rome. Truly an unforgettable afternoon between the Arch of Janus and Portunnus, Temple of Hercules and the grandiose Circus Maximus. I learned really interesting news that are not mentioned in the history books, but thanks to the guide Giuseppe and his preparation I relived and knew the moments and life of ancient Rome. This tour introduced me to a part of Rome that I had not yet discovered. It 'was very interesting to follow the explanations of Joseph, our guide; who in a simple and adequate way described the area of the Forum Boarium with its temples, its churches and the wonderful Circus Maximus. I really like to participate in these cultural walks because they are always well organized and always with an extremely prepared guide who every time immerses us, with his explanations, in the world of ancient Rome. We visited the area of the Forum Boario starting from the magnificent square where the Basilica of Santa Maria in Cosmedin is located, and then proceed to the Circus Maximus stopping gradually in the various Basilicas and archaeological sites. An afternoon full of history!!! A unique and complete enrichment, I learned with amazement and wonder so much information unknown to me. I have to thank the guide Giuseppe for his excellent preparation and his simple but incisive way of explaining. I am glad to have heard about the church Santa Maria in Cosmedin where the Mouth of Truth and the beautiful mosaic are located, the immense Circus Maximus, the churches of San Giorgio al Velabro and Santa Anastasia, the arch of Janus and the Temples of Hercules and Portunnus. Rome will never cease to amaze me!! And for this I thank The Rome Italy Explora organization that gave me this opportunity.
