Itinerary
Castel Sant'Angelo is one of Rome's most iconic fortresses, built as the mausoleum of Emperor Hadrian and later transformed into a papal residence. It dominates the Tiber with its imposing circular silhouette, connected to the Vatican by the famous Passetto.
The Vatican is an independent city-state located within Rome, serving as the spiritual and administrative center of the Roman Catholic Church. It is home to the Pope and iconic sites such as St. Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museums, and the Sistine Chapel. As the smallest state in the world, it holds immense religious and cultural significance.
(OPTIONAL) The Janiculum Fountain is one of Rome's most evocative viewpoints, immortalized in the opening scene of "The Great Beauty". From here your gaze embraces the entire Eternal City in a breathtaking view.
(OPTIONAL) The Mouth of Truth is one of Rome's most famous legends, carved in the marble of the church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin. Made famous by the film "Roman Holiday", it continues to fascinate visitors from all over the world.
(OPTIONAL) The Aventine Keyhole is one of Rome's most fascinating secrets: through the keyhole of the Knights of Malta's door you can glimpse St. Peter's dome perfectly framed. A magical and surprising view.
The Circus Maximus was an ancient Roman chariot-racing stadium and mass entertainment venue located in the valley between the Palatine and Aventine hills in Rome. It was the largest stadium in ancient Rome, capable of holding up to 250,000 spectators. The site was primarily used for chariot races, public games, and festivals, and remains a significant historical landmark, although only traces of the original structure survive today.
Colosseo The Colosseum is the biggest Roman amphitheater. It could have hosted more than 50.000 people. Built under the Flavian Dynasty, construction started in 72 AD and was completed in 80 AD.
Piazza Venezia, at the heart of Rome, boasts the iconic Altare della Patria. This grand square pulsates with history, offering a striking blend of ancient and modern architecture. The imposing Vittoriano monument dominates, symbolizing Italy's unity. Surrounded by historic structures like Palazzo Venezia, it serves as a vibrant hub, connecting the city's past with its present. The lively atmosphere and strategic location near key landmarks make Piazza Venezia an essential starting point for exploring Rome's rich cultural tapestry.
Fontana di Trevi Admire the magnificent Trevi Fountain, the most famous fountain in the world. Don't forget to throw a coin in the fountain for good luck...
The Pantheon in Rome, a marvel of ancient engineering, stands as a testament to Roman architectural brilliance. Simon our guide was great, and took extra care with our family in the heat. We had young kids with us and he made extra stops for shade and gelato. Highly recommend this as a great way to see Rome 🙌
Erfan our guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating to us and what we were wanting to see. Great experience and recommend for anyone who wants to get a quick view of Rome without all the walking
Fun and great way to see parts of Rome. Fun and great way to see parts of Rome. Fun and great way to see parts of Rome
Excellent day with Andy! Really lovely and educational. Would highly recommend for young families
Very good and friendly. With a lot of knowledge of the city and languages
Unfortunately we were left disappointed with this experience. Despite our guide being very knowledgeable and helpful they were 45 minutes late and then we broke down half way through the tour. The company were unable to send a replacement so we were left stranded and had to pay for a taxi. Despite numerous attempts to speak to them about some kind of compensation we have heard nothing. So disappointed as our experience could have been so different.
David was a great guide and very informative seeing the city this way was good instead of having to walk everywhere
Great way to get a view of all big sites in Rome! Would recommend for first days in the city to get your bearings and a quick peak at everything. Great tour guide (Agosto) who provided just the right amount of information about what we were seeing. Would certainly recommend!
Best way to see Rome for first time visitors. Our guide was amazing and took us all over the city. He was very informative and took us to some extra special local spots that were off the tour too. Couldn’t have asked for a better tour to start off our trip to Rome.
There were several issues with this tour. First booking a pick up location was difficult and communication with the company was terrible. I ended up asking for the address to meet the tour at and the company gave me an address but the guide was not there. As a result the tour started 1/2 hour late. It did not go to all the locations on the itinerary. We did not go to any of the optional stops or two of the listed stops including not going to the pantheon. The speakers were not working so if ypu are in the back of the cart you can't hear what the driver is saying. Finally if ypu are mobility challenged and are looking for a tour that gets close to the stops so ypu don't have to walk far this is not the tour for you. The guide stopped several blocks away from the stops he did make and you have to walk to the location.
Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that certain aspects of the experience did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify that panoramic tours in Rome operate within a complex urban environment where traffic conditions, pedestrian zones, security restrictions, road closures, and access limitations may affect stop locations and routing. Regarding accessibility, golf cart tours can reduce walking distances compared to traditional walking tours, but they cannot always stop directly adjacent to every monument due to local regulations and vehicle access restrictions. We also note that your review acknowledges that the tour took place and that multiple locations were visited. The concerns raised primarily relate to route expectations, audio equipment, and personal accessibility preferences rather than a failure to provide the tour itself. Kind regards, Luxurbe Team
