Your guide will meet you at the outside the Vatican Museums’ entrance and with reserved tickets your tour will start straight away; visiting the Belvedere Courtyard, the Pio-Clementino Museum and the magnificent collection of Ancient Roman and Greek Statues. Your tour will continue through the Gallery of Tapestries and the Gallery of Maps, home to one of the most important collections of Renaissance maps on the planet. In the Sobiesky Room you will see on of the Vatican’s biggest painting in and witness the incredible frescoes which adorn the room of the Immaculate Conception. Raphael’s Rooms are definitely a captivating place to visit. Decorated for Pope Julius II, they display some of Raphael’s greatest masterpieces; the Parnassus and The School of Athens.
Before entering the Sistine Chapel (no talking is allowed inside) you will hear from your guide about the ornate frescoes by Michelangelo, Botticelli and others that decorate the walls and ceilings inside. Your guide will also provide fascinating anecdotes about this historic chapel which is still used today - famously as the venue for Conclave, the papal election.

This has already happened this year and can happen again during your Vatican tour: the Sistine chapel and/or the Basilica of Saint Peter might not be accessible. In case of such events our tour guide will provide you with a valuable alternative focusing the tour inside the Vatican museums.

Our tour guide Francesco meet us promptly as arranged and gave us a wonderful tour , he spoke excellent English and was easy to understand. He answered all our questions and provided us with an informative tour. He was friendly and professional. . We booked and paid for a 3 hour tour but the tour ended after 21/2 hours. I would definitely recommend a private tour when visiting the Vatican museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica.
