Private Transfer from Alexandria to Cairo/Giza Hotels or Cairo./Giza to Alexandr

I am a solo female traveller and used a driver (Mahmoud) for a private transfer from Cairo to Alexandria (approx 3 hours). He was a very careful and considerate driver especially navigating the congested traffic in Cairo. I felt safe & comfortable throughout the journey. Thanks!!!

Shady, our driver, was truly fantastic. He kindly suggested leaving a bit earlier than we had planned to ensure we wouldn’t miss our flight, especially with the fog causing highway closures. When we got a flat tire, he quickly showed his skill in changing it efficiently. He was also very understanding when we needed a bathroom break. While communication with the company was a bit tricky and a bit impatient at times, overall, the experience with Shady was positive, and there's definitely room for improving the customer service experience from the company side

We needed to get from Alexandria to Cairo. I booked online which was very easy and straightforward. Received a confirmation immediately. The driver was right on time and helpful with our luggage. Driving in Egypt is a challenge but he did very well and drove safely. Would definitely recommend Viator for booking travel in Egypt!

Shady picked us up exactly on time. His car is clean, well maintained, has seatbelts, and he is a very safe driver. He has good English skills and is very very kind, polite, warm and respectful. My friend and I were tired from a late night wedding so we ended up sleeping through almost the entire drive, and Shady gently woke us up when we arrived in Cairo and said he was happy that we felt safe and comfortable enough to sleep. If we did not already have plans with friends in Cairo we would have accepted his offer of other stops and experiences. The coordinator who connected us with Shady was always communicative on time and made us always feel secure in our booking. 10/10 experience!

I’m giving it a 3 ONLY because we arrived in one piece. However. His car was dirty and dusty inside and out. The car smelled like cigarettes. He drove at over 100 Miles per hour which if he would have made one false move or his brakes didn’t work properly we would have been killed. He was only a couple of minutes late picking us up and he was nice enough. The one way transfer cost $130 USD and I paid it because I thought it would be a nice clean experience. But I could have gotten an Uber and paid $29 USD for the same dirty race car experience. While he barely said hello, he text me as he arrived and during the ride to book tours with him. Never turned and spoke he text while driving. Never addressing my husband and only asking me about expensive bookings via text. Selling selling selling is the thing here in Egypt. Because I had 2 previous wonderful experiences with this type of booking I thought this would be the third. But I was wrong.

The driver showed up early and patiently waited for us to check out of the hotel. The drive back to Cairo was amazing. The vehicle was clean and air conditioned. Our driver was awesome. Great trip!

The private transfer was easy, efficient and safe. We appreciated our driver’s interest in sharing the sites we passed by as well as answering culture questions we had. This was a great way to see the Egyptian countryside between Alexandria and our hotel in Giza.
