The Rossio is the popular name of the King Pedro IV Square (Portuguese: Praça de D. Pedro IV) in the city of Lisbon, in Portugal. Rua dos Sapateiros emerged with this spatial configuration in the reconstruction of Baixa Pombalina with a rectilinear and orthogonal layout, after the earthquake of November 1, 1755, and as a toponym it was born through the Ordinance of D. José I of November 5, 1760, the first diploma that dealt exclusively with toponymic matters in Lisbon.
The Church of Saint Anthony of Lisbon (Portuguese: Igreja de Santo António de Lisboa) is a Roman Catholic church located in Lisbon, Portugal. The Roman Theater Museum is a museum space dedicated to the Roman theater of Lisbon, which was built in the time of Augustus (r. 27 BC – 14 AD) and occupies the southern slope of the hill of Castelo de São Jorge next to Pátio do Aljube, 5 (on Rua Augusto Rosa). The theater, abandoned in the 4th century AD, remained buried until 1798, the year in which the ruins were discovered after the 1755 earthquake. The museum is housed in a 17th century building, in the area likely to be one of the theater's old entrances. The object of several archaeological campaigns since 1967, part of the benches, the orchestra, the stage and the stage, as well as a large number of decorative elements, were recovered.
The Santa Luzia Viewpoint has a wide view over Alfama and the Tagus River.
From the Miradouro das Portas do Sol, among several points of interest, we can observe the Church of São Vicente de Fora and the entire typical Alfama neighborhood that extends through several narrow and winding streets to the Tagus River. Fantastic and thorough experience with our tour operator, Nuno. We saw so many highlights in a short time and received the most personalized experience. I appreciated learning so much history from him and also little fun facts about Portugal, Lisbon, and even neighboring countries. He even coordinated a drop-off that was not originally included, but more convenient for our plans for the remainder of the day. So appreciative of a one-of-a-kind experience.
We were fortunate to have Antonio as our driver/guide. We was highly engaging, was a native of Lisbon and shared his love for his city. We saw much of Lisbon in a fun and efficient 4 hours, which much education and history added by Antonio. He also recommended excellent restaurants and gave advice for other activities. Antonio’s TukTuk tour was a highlight of our trip to Lisbon. Thank you!
Catarina was the best guide, she is kind, friendly knowledgeable, patient, respectful, very good driver. The Tuk-Tuk experience was unique, really enjoyed it. The tour, the views were perfect. I could take lots of pictures. Will be back for more for sure.
Our driver Nuno Bessa was amazing. We got to see so much and he told us the history behind everything we saw. Best tour we have ever been on.
Katrina was so knowledgeable. Amazing guide... Great views. Amazing knowledge of Lisbon. Historic facts and stories.
This was an individualized tour for two people to all the classic areas of Lisbon. Our experience was excellent. The tour guide, Katerina was lovely. She was very knowledgeable about the city and history. And she took us to special areas that allowed us to see how beautiful Lisbon is. We highly recommend the tour and especially Katerina as the guide. Katerina stopped along the way to take our picture at key scenic locations. Thank you so much Katerina for the beautiful memories of Lisbon.
Antonio’s 4hr Tuk Tuk was excellent. His knowledge of the history and cites of Lisbon were matched by his enthusiasm for his city. Antonio’s warm personality added to what was a a great experience for us “first timers” in lisbon
We spent 4 hours with Antonio and he gave a a very memorable tour. Antonio speaks many languages and English very well. He has a very good knowledge of Lisbon and easily adapted the tour to suit what interested us. Antonio has a great sense of humour and also recommend other place to see in Lisbon and other towns in Portugal. He is also a very good driver and we felt very safe with him. Absolutly recommended
We had the absolute pleasure of touring Lisbon with Antonio, and I can't recommend him enough! From the moment we hopped into his tuk tuk, Antonio made sure our experience was both enjoyable and informative. He brought us to all the major sights in the city — from the iconic Belém Tower to the vibrant streets of Alfama — all while sharing fascinating stories and insights about Lisbon's rich history. It was clear he's not just a driver, but someone who genuinely loves his city. What made the trip even more special was Antonio’s kindness and attention to detail. We were traveling with our toddler and a stroller, and Antonio went above and beyond to help us at every stop, even pushing the stroller when needed! Our little one took an instant liking to him, and he was so patient and friendly with her throughout the tour. If you're in Lisbon and looking for a fun, relaxed, and educational way to see the city, Antonio is your guy. Thanks again for an unforgettable experience, Antonio! We'll be back! — A Happy Family
Antonio and Nuno gave me and my family a perfect tour. My niece has special needs and they made sure she was also having a good tour. This was my family’s first time in Lisbon and the tour was perfect and I would recommend this tour.
