The Palacio Nacional da Pena is one of the finest tourist attractions in Portugal and exemplifies the 19th century Romanticism style of architecture. The palace is a hedonistic mix of vividly painted terraces, decorative battlements and mythological statues, all of which stand at stark contrast to the lush greens of the Parque de Pena forest. The interior of the Pena Palace is equally as fascinating, being restored to reflect the decor in 1910, when the Portuguese nobility fled to Brazil to escape the revolution. Surrounding the Palacio da Pena are forested grounds, which continue the design ideals of Romanticism, with hidden pathways, mystical ornaments and stunning vistas.
The Castle of the Moors (Portuguese: Castelo dos Mouros) is a hilltop medieval castle located in the central Portuguese civil parish of Santa Maria e São Miguel, in the municipality of Sintra, about 25km northwest of Lisbon. Built by the Moors in the 8th and 9th centuries, it was an important strategic point during the Reconquista, and was taken by Christian forces after the fall of Lisbon in 1147. It is classified as a National Monument, part of the Sintra Cultural Landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
The Quinta da Regaleira is a decorative 20th century residence that is situated in the town of Sintra. The grand house is split over five floors and has an ornate gothic façade, but the real attraction is to the rear with the enchanting gardens. The gardens of the Quinta da Regaleira were styled to represent ancient secret orders, with hidden tunnels and concealed symbolism.
Cabo da Roca or Cape Roca is a cape which forms the westernmost point of the Sintra Mountain Range, of mainland Portugal, of continental Europe, and of the Eurasian landmass

Dr.Edwin HASSID & Barbara HASSID were very pleased with our tour guide Hugo. Much of the day was spent in Sintra— we loved the Moor Castle but the rest of the sites were extremely over crowded. We enjoyed a lovely lunch in Sintra and spent the rest of the tour on a beautiful ride along the coast stopping at various beaches & towns. Very professional friendly driver — very knowledgeable of the history of Portugal which we really enjoyed & appreciated. I wish we had hired Hugo for our trip to Porto!! We will definitely hire hire when we return to Lisbon.

We actually did three days of private tours with Knight Riders Tourism: one day private tour of Lisbon, one day in Oporto, and one day in Sintra and Caiscais. I was traveling with my two elderly parents (over 80) and wanted private tours so that we could travel comfortably and adjust to my parent's energy levels, and get us as close to all the sights as possible. Our guide was Hugo, and not only was he great in explaining all the history and significant sights that we saw, he was also a great driver and drove us as close to the many sights as possible, as well as facilitating our getting ahead in the queues to avoid my father having to wait in long lines. It was an amazing experience, and we were able to see much more and more comfortably than had we done it with a larger group or by ourselves. Well worth it!! My mother and I (age 75 and 50) had an incredible day trip with Arthur. He picked us up right on time from our hotel. He was friendly, spoke perfect English, and made sure to accommodate all of our needs and interests. Our first stop was the Moorish Castle, which we loved being able to explore before all of the crowds arrived. We truly had the place to ourselves and were able to get some amazing pictures. Although some waiting was unavoidable at the other attractions due to crowds, he went out of his way to make the process as comfortable and efficient as possible. My favorite site was the regaleira initiation well. Although this was the one destination he was unable to enter with us, he gave us clear directions. He was flexible with our itinerary, allowing time for us to look around in the nearby shops before returning to the vehicle to head back to Lisbon. It was an amazing day in every way and a highlight of our vacation. Do not hesitate to book this tour as it is worth every pernny!

We were travelling as a group of 6 friends. Hugo was our day long guide, he did a fabulous job and is very, very nice and informative. He also drove us down the coastline of Portugal, which was absolutely gorgeous. Included a delightful lunch, grilled fish was delish as was the wine!

My husband and I did a full day private tour to Sintra. It was amazing . We saw three palaces, all tix were included, went to the western point , walked around downtown Sintra. We got picked up on time. We explored natural forest. We had a great lunch overlooking Atlantic Ocean . Philippe , our tour guide and driver was the best . He offered the most amazing lunch spot, flexibility in schedule , drove thru the great places to show us perfect views. I highly recommend the tour company and Philippe .
