It provides the same experience as other major wildlife reserves in the country without travelling a long distance. This park also has a huge variety of wildlife and 4 of the big 5 can be found here. The only missing member of the big 5 is the elephant. It is a flexible safari and can be fine tuned according to the requirements of a traveler.

This mini safari is recommended for transit passengers at the Jomo Kenyatta International airport or someone who wants a few hours safari. One of the best way for a transit passenger to pass time at the JKIA airport in Nairobi is to a have a mini safari in Nairobi National Park. It is a short drive from the airport and boost of being the only wildlife national park in the world within a capital city. The park is made of wide open grass plains, scattered acacia bush and play host to a wide variety of wildlife including the endangered black rhino, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes and diverse birdlife with over 400 species recorded. All this in the backdrop of the city scrapers. You will be picked and driven to Nairobi National Park through the east gate or main gate. Upon entry, you will be driven around viewing the parks diverse wildlife. At the end of the tour, you will be dropped back at the airport or at the point where you were picked.

The treatment from the begining was very profesional and friendly. Geophrey was always there to solve any doubts very quickly. The day of the Safari Paul was with us. I can’t say enough good things about Kichaka tours. My college-age daughter and friends were traveling to Zanzibar and due to multiple airplane cancellations they ended up having a very long layover in Nairobi. We reached out to Kichaka tours to arrange a day safari for their unexpected layover and Geophrey was amazing with helping us set this up last minute. He was patient as we figured out last minute travel times. And when their flight was canceled AGAIN at the last minute he worked with us to pick the group up from a different location. And even better- he text us (the parents) to let us know that our kids had been picked up and were safe and sound. The safari itself was amazing! My daughter described the driver/guide as “the nicest person” she met on her entire trip. He was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and flexible. It was short and sweet but the group was able to see an incredible abundance of animals. And the dinner at the end was a really fun experience! The icing on the cake is that all of this planning and flexibility was incredibly affordable. We were quoted a very reasonable price- we have been on many safaris and this was by far the most affordable without compromising the quality of the experience. I highly recommend Kichaka tours. The whole experience was safe, fun, and affordable. And the staff made sure that even though we (the parents) weren’t there, that our 19 year olds were well taken care of care of and had an amazing experience. We hope to have the opportunity to use Kichaka tours in the future for a longer stay.

I want to thank Kichaka Tours and Travel for their excellent quality of service all-round. I used them for a half-day safari drive to Nairobi National Park. Wilson replied very quickly to all my questions and was incredibly helpful and professional. He then put me in contact with Dennis, my safari driver/guide, so that we could confirm pick up in advance. I found this very reassuring especially as the pick-up was at 5.30am so I wanted to make sure it was reliable. Dennis confirmed with me in advance and even arrived early so that we got to Nairobi National Park in good time and were first in the queue before opening! This meant there were no delays getting into the park and I got to experience the full sunrise over the park - it was magical. Dennis was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. He went above and beyond to help me see as many animals as possible during the trip. I had the best morning and would definitely recommend him and the whole Kichaka Team!

Absolutely incredible! I highly recommend going early in the morning when the animals are most active, plus the sunrise was beautiful. Our guide Maurice was friendly and knowledgeable. He was also timely and professional, which we don’t always get in Kenya lol.

We travelled to Kenya for our MBA and decided to stay a bit longer so we could do a little trip around the Masai Mara and a Safari. At first we were unsure about choosing Masai Mara or Amboseli, so we requested quotes for both options, for a 3-day trip (Saturday morning to Monday afternoon/evening). We eneded up choosing the Masai Mara one, and unfortunately kept on quering prices due to potential changes in numbers.. they were super kind and kept updating the quote and options for us. As we ended up booking it a bit "last minute" the original accommodation we had looked at was full however they found us an alternative in no time, and I have to say, I believe we were extremely lucky as we had the most amazing lodge, with the most amazing and attentive staff and it was just us there alongside one more guest, so it was a very unique experience. Our driver, John, who we renamed Juanchito for the trip (he loved it!) was absolutely fantastic. He was kind, he was lovely and he really made an effort and went above and beyond to ensure our trip and safari were the best experience they could be. He was an amazing driver also, as some roads weren't particularly easy to go through. I cannot recommend them enough - they even got back to our hotel on Monday, after we had been dropped off, to bring us a little present so we remember the trip. Loved it!

I liked the Masai Mara game drive. Spotted all the big cats including all other wild animals. The Masai village visit was also exciting.
