The museum complex astounded us with its diversity and richness : from ancient sculptures and frescoes to halls filled with masterpieces of the great masters. Every exhibition here holds its own story and amazes with its scale. A special impression was left by our guide - passionate, attentive and incredibly knowledgeable. His delivery was lively and full of emotion, bringing facts and events to life and revealing works of art from a completely new angle. The Vatican unfolded before us as an entire world where history and beauty come together in perfect harmony. We also want to mention the team at Tour Up in Europe! from the moment of booking to the very end of the tour, the support was exeptional. Every question was answered promptly, all the details were taken care of, and we felt looked after at every step of the way. That level of care made the whole experience even more speical!! This tour gave us vivid emotions and a STRONG desire to return and continue discovering its endless treasures. Highly highly recommend - just GO!!! 🙌
Natalia is an outstanding guide - she presents the material in a way that is engaging, accessible and genuinely informative. The tour was quite long but perfectly paced - with breaks, moments to rest and even a chance to grab a bite to eat. Natalia answered every question with care and attention, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout. Thank you for a wonderful introduction to the Vatican!
They took a booking for a private tour on a day the Vatican was closed, and didn't reschedule us nor provide a refund. This is one of the most dishonest organizations out there, I would highly recommend you avoid this tour group as we spent almost 5 days messaging with them and giving them the opportunity to make it right, and at the end they told us NO refund and they are keeping the money for something they could NOT deliver. Avoid them at all costs as they are dishonest and think it's acceptable to steal from tourists. We will be turning them into various authorities across Europe for doing this.
Thank you for your review. We do want to set the record straight though. The refund was processed on our end immediately — what happened after that is between you and the platform you booked through, which is entirely outside our control. As for the tour itself — Easter Sunday at the Vatican. Every tourist website, travel blog and common knowledge will tell you the Vatican is closed on Easter. This is not something any tour operator on the planet can change. We genuinely wish things had worked out differently and hope you make it back to Rome one day — we would love to show you what we are really capable of. 🙏
What a dishonest group of thieves. They did not deliver anything and cited a no refund policy even though the Vatican was closed. We tried to be graceful and give them a chance. They are thieves and liars. Avid them at all costs.
I apologize for the inconvenience. However, as previously communicated, we received your booking at the last moment on a date when the Vatican was closed. We offered to reschedule the tour and arranged a guide and tickets on short notice. Before we could receive your confirmation, you informed us that you had already visited the Vatican. At that stage, a refund was no longer applicable, as our team had already proceeded with the rescheduling and ticket arrangements.
Avoid Tour Up In Europe . The supplier is a scam I don’t know how Viator has it . They didn’t honor my private tour that was showing available stating that they don’t have any Spanish tour guides and it was lat minute . I explained to them that they had it active and available on Viator and that if they don’t have it they need to refund me . Now I am in contact with Viator to have the tour refunded . They never responded my WhatsApp’s and didn’t accommodate the private tour . They offered me to change to a group tour (+20 people in the tour ) and they were only giving me up 65 euros back . I mean 65 to change a private tour to group tour for the Vatican ???? It is way less the price of a group tour . Anyways the operator is terrible , terrible customer service and terrible service . DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM.
The tour guide was fabulous! Viator description was not accurate and we did not get tickets to Basilica. The description led us to believe this was included in tour. As someone never have been there I had no clue. The tour company showed me their website which clearly states it’s a separate ticket. I did not book through this site used Viator. When I contacted Viator there was no attempt at resolution and in fact kept getting messages that they are disconnecting snap because of me not responding timely. I was trying to enjoy the rest of my vacation. I want to reiterate that Natalia the guide was awesome she was put in a tuff position.
Our guide was great but Rome and the Vatican was very crowed and very hot!. If you must go during the tourist season a private guide is the best alternative. You get through lines faster and can actually get to stay ahead of the crowds.
We are sure the trip would have been great had it not been cancelled less than 12 hours before we were set to go on it. The operator was not overly helpful in a refund and failed to respond via Viator - we had to search for another contact number online and WhatsApp (where they also stopped responding). We were then offered a partial refund rather than a full… needless to say we would never book with this group again. There are plenty of good reputable tour operators across Europe- use them instead!
Absolutely heartbreaking. Devastating. We booked our private Vatican tour a month ago, only to find out after landing and arriving at the site that it was cancelled—due to either the tour company being unable to secure a guide or obtain tickets. Seriously? Why wasn’t this communicated sooner? We trusted this booking was confirmed. Now that we’re here, there are no tickets available anywhere. This may be our one and only visit to Vatican City, and it’s devastating to miss out on such a meaningful experience. Completely disappointed. I’ve messaged the company, no response. I let them know we are available tomorrow at 3pm. Willl update my review if I hear anything .
Being in the Holly of the Holliest of the whole globe - as our wonderful guide Eugene mentioned - was a bliss especially accompanied by the professional guide who explained us all the parts of the history. We particularly enjoyed the RAFAELLO - he is magnificent
