Private Excursion to Pompeii and Amalfi Coast from Naples Cruise Port or Hotel

Driver was great however the car provided was way too small for 4 people and made for a very uncomfortable ride for an entire day. The Pompeii guide was excellent and overall the amount covered in the day was quite satisfactory.

Our driver, Enrico and Pompei guide, Paolo were amazing and made sure we had a fantastic day. Paolo’s insights and humour really brought Pompei alive for us, and Enrico took us on a spectacular tour of the Amalfi coast with a delicious lunch recommendation. Highly recommended.

Our driver, Carla was fantastic. She was friendly, made a suggestion for us for lunch, and was open to do whatever our family wanted to do in Naples. She was professional, kind, and personable.

The brisk, fast paced tour of Pompeii was extremely educational and fact filled. Our guide taught and showed us so much more about the site than I thought possible. The visits to Positano and Sorrento were about 90 minutes each which is just enough time to grab a light lunch, walk around and take photos. If only have one day and want to see as much as possible and take some amazing photos, then this is an excellent tour. Be aware the drivers speak very little English so you will not get much a “tour” during the driving portion.

Our experience was amazing! The driver only spoke a little bit of english but it was enough to communicate. The guide was awesome. The only minor issue would be that the operator should communicate better pick up location. Viator cannot pick you up by the tour busses where you exit the ship. You have to walk about 250 yards to the terminal exit to the taxi pick up area. Don't forget to show your appreciation by tipping for the great service. :<)

Outstanding and knowledgeable guide for the Pompei tour on August 31 (cannot remember his name but possibly Romolo). Engaging, good sense of humor, very informative. Driver was friendly and careful. Gave us good ideas for roaming around Positano and Amalfi. The Amalfi coast was magnificent and interesting to walk around those two towns during our brief stops.

Beautiful views on the drive of the Amalfi coast, but our drivers did not speak english. We had thought we could do Pompeii first, but they took us to Amalfi first which took over 2 hours to drive there. Then we only had 1.5 hours there and then drove to Pompeii where we had only 1 hour to have our guided tour. Josephina was our tour guide at Pompeii - she was very helpful, fluent, and knowledgable. But I really wish our drivers spoke english - we didn't get any information on our 5 hours in the car with them.

It was very hot that day, but the tour guides took that into consideration and paid special attention to the happiness of the children with us.

I would 100% recommend this tour. While the listing states its departure is from cruise port, we contacted the tour coordinator and asked to be picked up from the airport. It was seamless and we had wonderful communication. Our vans were clean and comfortable. We had the MOST AMAZING tour guide, Paulo, at the historic Pompeii site. It was perfection. He was so good with children and very funny, beyond being knowledgeable. We very much enjoyed our drive and time in Sorrento, Postano, and Almalfi, ultimately getting time and lunch in Sorrento (at a wonderful restaurant recommended by our driver). The drive had many stops at perfect spots for photos and bathroom breaks. We had a couple people get a little queasy from the car ride, but that’s to be blamed on the roads, not the tour! I’d recommend emergency Dramamine just in case. Ultimately the tour dropped us off at our train in Salerno, so it was the perfect day, coordinated to our travel preferences. Thank you!!!
