Absolutely WONDERFUL experience! My wife, brother, and sis-in-law elected to arrange private transportation, with Viator, to avoid getting on a massive coach bus with hundreds of people. This private transportation made it a LOT more intimate, private, and relaxing. It also allowed us to customize how long we spent at each location. Our driver called ahead to Chichen Itza (Mayan Pyramid) to arrange a private tour for us before we arrived and took us to a favorite local restaurant in Valladolid (AMAZING FOOD). I HIGHLY recommend this for groups of 8 of less that are looking for something different, private, and customizable.
They NEVER SHOWED UP. NO SHOW Called and they said they would not make it This is the first time this ever happened using this App This was not the fault of Viatior and Viator has refunded my complete money and I will use Viator again. Just stay away from this tour group.

I would recommend you pay a little extra and get the skip the line (vip) tickets, or else you will waste too much time in the incredibly long lines. It's hot and confusing at the entrance. Getting vip tix are the way to go. I also recommend a tour guide. Even after watching documentaries and reading about Chichen Itza, it was enlightening to hear facts and history from a local. This specific booking was for private transport to/from Chichen Itza/Cenote. It was nice to have our own schedule and driver who was familiar with the roads, tolls, short cuts and parking.
The guide was very professional and helpful. He provided cold towels when we came back, water, when needed, and the whole experience was perfect with the little ones. We were able to travel at our own pace and not have to be on a schedule that would be required with a large group.
The guy didn’t even come to take us for the tour. We tried reaching him he kept cutting on our call.

Highly recommended, especially due to the expertise that Miguel was able to provide us on the ride. Not only was he courteous, welcoming to our children and very knowledgeable, he was also timely and always available. The ride was comfortable and he was able to accommodate all requests. We went over an hour and were very surprised as we thought our kids would not be able to last the 10 hours of travel. The cenote he recommended was amazing, luxurious and surprisingly well-priced. An incredible experience.
It was a nice day out but the driver never spoke English and was silent majority of the trip. Apparently water and beer is included but we only got six bottles of water between the eight of us only when we arrived on Chitzen Itza! When we questioned the guide he said that’s all the company provided him. Considering this is a 10hour trip in 36c + weather, go prepared with snacks and drinks for the travel. This is just a taxi service.
My family enjoyed our tour to Chichen Itza, Ik Kill and Valladolid immensely! We requested a different pickup time than what was offered through the online booking system and the operator quickly confirmed that they were able to accommodate our wishes. Driver Ricardo pick us up at our hotel right on time. The van was clean and comfortable with good a/c. Ricardo shared a lot of interesting facts about the area as we drove to Chichen Itza and gave us some advice on how to best enjoy our time at the site. He gave us his personal cell so we could text when we were ready to leave. We had done quite a bit of research ahead of time about Chichen Itza so we elected not to hire a guide at the site. We spent an amazing four hours walking around looking at everything and taking pictures. It was an incredible experience but we were very hot as the morning went on. When we texted Ricardo to pick us up he was there very quickly and had a cooler full of ice cold drinks for us! We enjoyed those drinks VERY much! Next stop was a visit to Ik Kil cenote for a swim. Ricardo came up to the ticket booth with us to interpret as we don't speak Spanish and he wanted to make sure everything went smoothly. The swim was absolutely beautiful and very refreshing. We bought the cenote tickets that included a lunch buffet. The food was good and the buffet included one local Yukatan beer per person. We got the dark beer option...I can't remember the name but it was very good. After this we went to Valladolid for a quick visit. We got a type of dessert that's like a thin waffle wrapped with filling like a crepe called marquesitas in the central square. They have all sorts of filling options but we opted for the most popular one which was nutella, strawberries and cheese. Delicious! After that Ricardo drove us back to our hotel and we enjoyed more drinks. He told us a bit more about other areas of Mexico. It was apparent how proud he is of his country and culture and we felt very fortunate that he shared this with us. He also gave us some very useful advice about our plans for the upcoming days in Cancun. This tour was the most memorable day of our trip and I would highly recommend it to anyone. It was definitely more than just private transportation!
