TopBike Rental has great guides and bikes. We had a fantastic day with Rik on the Appian Way.
This is a fabulous day trip to see a whole different side of Rome and it's history. You travel the length of what's left of the Appian Way, with many information stops about the history and ruins. The destination for lunch is at Castel Gandolfo where you have a lovely meal at a local trattoria. Then up to the top of the hill for a view, then onto the train for a short hop to the next part of the ride. The second half of the ride follows two different aqueducts.... absolutely amazing. You then wend your way through neighborhoods and parks back to the shop. Our guide Nima was absolutely fantastic. He was very friendly and charming and full of information. We learned so much! In addition, you can tell he's paying very good attention to group safety at all times. Although we are experienced riders we were grateful to not have to navigate. The bikes from Top Bike are in excellent condition. This a super experience for anyone who is comfortable on a bike.... The ride is about 27 miles/ 43 km by e-bike
I can’t recommend this tour ENOUGH! Simply amazing! The views, the history, the country side! The guide was super attentive and patient! My husband broke his chain on his bike and they had it fixed without a hiccup. If you’re on the fence do it! The bike is super easy to ride!
Thanks for the great review! We are happy that you enjoyed the experience! Hope to have you ride with us! Valerio
Great bike rental company. The guides are great . I have used Top Bike rentals twice . I would definately use them again. The entire staff is very friendly and easy to work with. The tour was very enjoyable. The guide was very knowledgeable and personable.
Our guide Klaas is more than an excellent guide; very friendly, pleasant and extremely knowledgeable. The route was fantastic, good quality Ebikes, a delicious lunch in a beautiful location on a lake. Learned a lot and had an unforgettable day.
We LOVED our bike tour with Top bikes and our guide, Klaas. We appreciated the time that was taken at the start of the tour, to be sure that our bikes and our helmets fit and were comfortable. Klaas was friendly, great with the kids, and very knowledgeable. He shared all sorts of info along the way and was happy to answer our questions. The bike ride out to Castel Gondalfo was beautiful. He helped us navigate the city streets and once into the countryside, we enjoyed the gorgeous views. Lunch was a very pleasant surprise. Often, with tours, you get tourist food. That was not the case. The lunch was plentiful, and delicious and we felt more like a local, than a tourist. As soon as we stepped out of the restaurant, it started to rain. Nothing we could do, but hop on our bikes. Klaas kept us smiling and made sure we felt safe on our cold and wet ride home. Even with the rain, we enjoyed every minute of our memorable trip and our time with Klaas and we highly recommend this company and this tour.
Dear Bryan, Thanks for your review! It's amazing to hear you loved your tour with us, even if the weather might not have been the best! We count ourselves lucky to have guides like Klaas, that always know how to convey their extensive knowledge and their care for safety with a big smile! We hope to welcome you again soon!
Our full day ebike tour into the countryside to Lake Albarno via the Appian Way was the best day of our week in Rome. A visit to gorgeous restaurant next to the lake for lunch was delicious and was followed by a dip in the lake. Rik was interesting and had so many informative anecdotes to share with us. We saw lots of sights that we wouldn't have seen otherwise and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the trip
My husband and I thought this by far was one of the best days of our trip. We enjoyed our tour guide, Klaas, insight on history and the beautiful sights. One of our favorite parts was jumping in the lake after our lunch. Would definitely recommend if you are up for an adventure.
Did the six hour Appian Way tour with Fabio and it was great. His English and knowledge of Italian history is amazing. The catacombs were interesting ( no bones!) and traveling thru the AppianWay was easy on the electric bikes. Lunch was a homemade pasta dish, bread and wine. Highly recommend this tour!
