Stefano our driver and city tour guide was exceptional! His knowledge of Rome, including navigating the traffic was very impressive, and we saw all the sites we were interested in seeing. Massimo, guide for the Vatican and Sistine Chapel was outstanding. He saved us time by knowing how to navigate those areas and gave us the best experience.
Wow, what a great day we spent in Rome. Peter picked us up at the port in Civitavecchia, and drove us to Rome in a very clean and comfortable Mercedes Minivan. Because our tour was on a Sunday we were not able to visit the the various sights at the Vatican. However, Peter told us he would take us to the Vatican at 11:30, which would allow us enough time to proceed through security and we would be able to see the Pope when he gave his 12:00 Sunday address. Peter told us exactly where to stand in the Vatican Courtyard for the best viewing. We were not disappointed and we did see the Pope. Seeing the Pope was something none of us were expecting on our tour. We had a few places in particular we wanted to see during our day trip to Rome and Peter made sure we saw them. He was amazing at driving in Rome and extremely familiar with the roads and the layout of the city. There was even a major bicycle event this particular Sunday and several of the streets were closed to vehicle traffic, no problem, Peter knew another way to get us to our destination. At the end of our tour Peter dropped us off at our hotel. Thanks to Peter our one day in Rome was perfect. I highly recommend this tour.
Francesco was our driver for the day, and he really made for an amazing experience. This tour is specifically designed for those disembarking cruise ships out of Civitavecchia, and personally I believe it is worth every penny and then some. A transfer already costs anywhere between $200-$400, depending on demand, to get from Civitavecchia to Rome, so it honestly makes a ton of sense to just spend a little extra and see all Rome has to offer in the comfort of a beautiful, air conditioned car! Francesco was easy to find at the port and was early. He helped us into the car, a beautiful new BMW, and we were in Rome in just over an hour. Along the way he asked us about what kind of itinerary we were looking for and if we had any tours planned. We told him we had a tour at the Colosseum at 9:45am, and he even took it upon himself to call the tour company to confirm details and make sure we were at the meeting location on time. He dropped us off on time, gave us easy directions for the pick-up point after the tour, and picked us up seconds after we texted him that we were ready. From there, he took us all around Rome, giving us insights on knowledge and history all along the way at every stop. Francesco took us to Circus Maximus after the Colosseum, gave us a ton of information, took pictures, and then we were on our way to Piazza Venezia, where he gave us more information/history, and recommended an amazing hidden location for a view of the entire Roman Forum. From there we went to the Pantheon, in which he purchased skip the line tickets for us while we were taking pictures at Piazza Venezia. We were in and out of the Pantheon in a few minutes. After the Pantheon, Francesco drove us to Piazza Navono, gave us some history, and then drove us around the Vatican, giving us more information and history before dropping us off at a restaurant for lunch. The lunch spot he recommended was amazing. After lunch, he picked us up again seconds after texting him that we were ready and he brought us to the Vatican, where we had skip the line tickets that got us right in. He even gave us a shortcut inside that helped us avoid more lines. After the Vatican, he drove us around to some unexpected sights and vistas, giving us more history along the way, before finally bringing us to the hotel. It was an incredible way to see Rome, and I highly recommend this tour for anyone disembarking a ship or even just simply wanting to see Rome in a faster, more convenient, and comfortable way. There aren't enough good things I can say about this experience.
Francesco was our tour guide / driver and we spent a wonderful day in Rome with him. He showed us all the highlights and explained the history of each location which really brought it to life for us. He was very knowledgeable having grown up in Rome on both the history & maneuvering in the traffic. We can’t thank Francesco enough for the first class experience he provided us and I highly recommend him if you want an amazing day in Rome!
We used this driving service post cruise pick up straight off the docks. Our driver was Gary he was on time holding a sign and easy to identify. He is super friendly and his English is fantastic. This was our 3rd trip to Rome so we had already seen alot of the big ticket stuff like the Vatican, Coliseum etc and we were staying at a hotel that was 10 metres from Trevi fountain. Now because we couldn’t check in earlier than 2pm we asked to be taken to a shopping mall so he obliged and took us to a big mall out by the airport, then drive us through Trastevere, stopped at Campo Dei Fiori for coffee and cake and then delivered us to our hotel. We really enjoyed our time with him and it was totally worth the price we paid and would highly recommend Gary and this company. Thank you!
