A fascinating tour. Pompeii is so interesting as an example of life in Ancient Rome especially the differences between the classes. The Amalfi Coast is beautiful. Even with the steep hills in Positano it was a pleasant walk through the town.
The sites of Positino and Pompeii are unforgettable, but the star of the show was the informative and intelligent narrative explanations of our guide ION. He was easy to listen to and learn. I was also impressed with the flawless execution and efficiency of the operation.
We arrived at the meeting point at 7:10 as requested for a 730 departure, but we didn’t leave until 745. We had paid for an upgrade to a semi private tour with a limoncello tasting. We all boarded a small Mercedes Van which was fairly comfortable, although the air-conditioning was mediocre. The entire trip was made in silence - no music and no talking by our guide Francisco. As we approached, Positano, Francisco suggested that we skip the Limoncello tasting to have more time in Positano. When we arrived in Positano, he told us that we would have one hour and 15 minutes there which was clearly not enough time. In fact, the itinerary stated we would have two hours there. He suggested that because we had so little time in Positano, he would make arrangements for us to have a table meal just outside of Pompeii. When we arrived in Pompeii, we realized he had made arrangements with a tourist restaurant for a fixed price menu for us so we had no say in what the meal was. The food was decent, but when we finished our meal the waiter suggested that we all pay in cash so we had to empty our wallets of all of our euro to pay for this meal. We then crossed the street to the Pompeii site and were met by our Pompeii guide, Vincenzo. Vincenzo was an excellent guide and we were able to see quite a bit of Pompeii despite a torrential downpour during the museum portion of our tour. We finished at Pompeii and met Francisco for the 2 1/2 hour trip back to Rome. We arrived back in Rome at 7:30 so despite the tour saying it had a 13 hour duration, we were actually less than 12 hours and our Positano portion was cut very short. We were also disappointed that Francisco did not say anything during the entire trip not even to point out locations or regions or things of interest except for Mount Vesuvius, and the Bay.
Hi Shirley_C, Thank you for your detailed feedback. We're sorry to hear that parts of the tour did not meet your expectations. On the Semi Private tour you have included a driver for the journey not an official licensed guide. We appreciate you highlighting Vincenzo's excellent guidance in Pompeii, and we're pleased that portion of the experience was enjoyable despite the weather. Your comments regarding the itinerary, timing, and lunch arrangements will be shared with our team for review. Thank you again for your feedback—it helps us improve our tours and the overall guest experience.
We loved our trip to Positano. Viviane was our guide, and we really enjoyed being with her. She was very friendly, kind, and pleasant. She explained everything with great knowledge about the places we visited. We went to Positano, Sorrento, and we truly loved the whole trip.
Antonino and our driver Daniel made the day so easy and enjoyable. Nothing we asked was too much and every question was answered! Would definitely recommend! The tour is was so worth it to see so much without having to plan or think about it yourself
Everything was perfect!! The bus driver, the smooth ride on the bus, and of course our illustrious tour guide Ion!! He was funny, charming and very informative!! I've already booked my next trip for tomorrow! Thanks so much!!❤️
The tour guide Manu was amazing and so was our driver Gianni ! The tour could have been either longer so you could really have time to see Positano- I am not really a shopper and really hate that was most of the time where we were. This is not the guides fault at all this is where we were dropped off. Unfortunately we did not choose to walk thru the stormy weather to see Pompeii so sad about that part of the trip but there should have been some sort of provision made for bad weather. Also would have loved to take photos without racing by in the bus
Great day! Organized well. Everyone friendly.
Valentina is an excellent guide. She and the driver Fabrizio were very helpful. The tour itself is well designed. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
The trip to Pompeii was almost a disaster. The guide was hard to understand and he wasted time so that we never went in the museum to see the plaster casts. Everyone was disappointed. Then, he says "f***" in front of a 10 year old. Pompeii should have been first, and cut out the wasted time to the Limoncello factory!!! I feel cheated and will not recommend this.
