Itinerary
From the heights considered one of the best viewpoints in the city, you get to see a stadium older than the Colosseum - The Theatre of Marcellus, the Mayor’s office, the Roman Forum, & Mamertine prison where St.Paul was imprisoned.
Curia of Pompey - Caesar's assassination site. You come down the hill and the guide introduces you to the Forum of Julius Caesar, The Market & Column of Trajan.
The jewel on the crown is the Baroque Trevi Fountain. Whip out your cameras, switch on your smiles and as tradition demands flick your coin into the fountain and make your wishes come true.
Hadrian's Temple - The Temple of Hadrian is a temple to the deified Hadrian on the Campus Martius in Rome, Italy, built by his adoptive son and successor Antoninus Pius in 145 and now incorporated into a later building in the Piazza di Pietra.
The Basilica di Sant'Agnese Fuori le Mura (Basilica of St. Agnes Outside the Walls) is a 7th century church in Rome. It is notable for its mosaics, shrine of the virgin martyr St. Agnes, and catacombs.
The walk down the road brings you to the 2000 years temple called Pantheon. A temple with a free standing concrete dome & no support system. The dome is a masterpiece studied & admired for centuries.
Settled between the great Pantheon and Piazza Navona, this is the French church in Rome. It is renowned for having three very famous paintings from Caravaggio: The Calling of Saint Matthew, The Inspiration of Saint Matthew, and the Martyrdom of Saint Matthew. The outside is adorned with sculptures and scenes telling the history of France and it’s saints and martyrs.
This famous and beautiful piazza in Rome contains the fountain of the four rivers and is an excellent example of Roman baroque architecture.
The Capitoline Hill, though the smallest of Rome's seven hills, holds great significance. It housed the Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus, the most important sanctuary in ancient Rome.

Guide was amazing, he was very flexible and informative. Highly recommend!
Fantastic day with Marcello. Everything was very easy from organizing the tour to meet up. We have 3 kids and he was great with all their questions. We walked from the pantheon to the coliseum with several stops along the way. He was really able to make the day what we wanted and customized it based on what we had already done prior to the tour. He was very knowledgeable and husband and kids loved him.
A great trip around a few of the hilights of Rome. Eugene, our guide for the day was beyond knowledgeable rolling off fascinating facts about not just the main sites but on every side street and building we passed.

We had a wonderful custom tour with Eugene. He was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating for showing us the sites with my electric wheelchair. He was great at knowing the sights and navigating traffic. Highly recommend him as a tour guide.

Although we have been to Rome before, never have we felt so immersed in the realities of ancient Rome. Justin's narratives took us not just to the place of Rome, but into the heads of those ancient peoples. It is easy for us, in our contemporary times, to misunderstand the beliefs and lives (and miserable deaths) of the age. Justin is a fountainhead of information and painted pictures with his words. In addition, he is able to answer nearly every question put to him. Justin is a transplanted Norwegian and clearly loves his adopted home. His English is very good and easy to understand. Spring for the private tour and request Justin; you won't regret it!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and beautifully written review! We’re delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your tour with Justin. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with Justin— he’ll be thrilled! We’re so glad you felt immersed in the stories and spirit of ancient Rome, and we hope to welcome you back for another memorable experience soon. Warm regards again from The Europe Odyssey Team
Eugene was the absolute best!!! We loved him. Extremely knowledgeable, personable, a true Roman native! We felt like we were experiencing Rome through A Roman's eyes. We enjoyed both of our tours immensely and would request Eugene again and again!
Dear Nancy, We’re thrilled that Eugene’s native Roman insight, warmth, and expertise made both tours feel like seeing Rome through a local’s eyes. We’d be honored to welcome you back and will happily arrange Eugene again. Warm regards from the Europe odyssey Team
We had a wonderful time during our private tour of Rome. Raul was our guide and he was fantastic. We visited Pantheon, Colliseum, Basilica San Clemente, and Palentine Hill before finishing our tour in the Roman forum. We were visiting Italy for a multi city trip and were incredibly appreciative of the prompt responses and flexibility in accomodating our prebooked arrival to Rome. Their team was accommodating and we had a seamless experience navigating through busy parts of the city. Raul also has an exceptional knowledge of Rome's history, and also knows the best Gelato in Rome! We will certainly refer our friends and family to Europe Odyssey Tours. Bravo!
We’re so pleased Rahul and our team could make your Rome visit seamless and memorable! Your detailed feedback means a lot, and we’re delighted you discovered both history and gelato along the way. We can’t wait to welcome your friends and family in the future! Warm regards from the Europe Odyssey Team
Great tour with Eugene as our guide. He took us on a route that beat the cruise ship tourists to the most important sites.
Eugene was a great wealth of knowledge on Roman sites visited. He took us around at our pace and saw a little extra things most people would not know unless they grew up here like he has.
We’re so glad you enjoyed your time with Eugene! His passion for Rome and local insights really make a difference on tour. Thank you for highlighting his knowledge and care. Warm regards from the Europe Odyssey Team
