The peaceful temple grounds are surrounded by deer that roam freely, adding a magical feel. With ancient trees, sacred halls, and rich cultural history, Todaiji offers a unique glimpse into Japan’s spiritual heart. It’s a must-see spot that leaves you in awe, whether you're a history buff or not.
A serene, scenic escape in the heart of Nara, Japan, known for its friendly, free-roaming deer. Over a thousand of these gentle creatures wander the vast lawns and ancient temple grounds, often bowing to visitors in exchange for special deer crackers. Surrounded by historic sites like Todaiji Temple and Kasuga Shrine, the park blends nature, culture, and wildlife in a uniquely charming way. The peaceful atmosphere, shaded by tall trees and dotted with ponds, makes it perfect for a relaxing stroll. Meeting the sacred deer—considered messengers of the gods—is a magical, unforgettable part of any Nara visit.
One of Japan’s most iconic and beautiful landmarks. Surrounded by stone walls, moats, and lush gardens, the castle rises proudly with its white walls, golden accents, and green roof tiles shining in the sun. As you approach, the grandeur of the structure is breathtaking. Inside, the castle has been turned into a modern museum with interactive exhibits, armor displays, and panoramic views of Osaka from the top floor. The history of samurai battles and powerful leaders comes to life as you explore each level. The surrounding park is equally stunning, especially in spring when cherry blossoms bloom, creating a picture-perfect scene. Walking through the peaceful gardens, past stone bridges and water-filled moats, makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. Whether you're into history or just love beautiful places, a tour of Osaka Castle is both fun and unforgettable. It’s a must-see highlight of any Osaka trip.
a lively, must-visit district known for its neon lights, buzzing streets, and exciting atmosphere. It's the perfect place for a food crawl, with endless street stalls and restaurants offering local favorites like takoyaki—crispy octopus balls topped with sauce and bonito flakes. As you walk along the Dotonbori River, the reflections of colorful signs and the iconic Glico Running Man create a stunning night view. Beyond the food, shopping is a huge draw, with trendy boutiques, souvenir stores, and quirky shops lining the busy streets. Dotonbori is where Osaka’s energy truly comes alive!

Couldn’t recommend SOMEI enough. He was the best guide we’ve ever had! He went above and beyond for us: planning restaurants ahead of time and he knew all the best photo spots. Such a kind soul and absolutely made our trip. You are lucky if you get Somei!
Our day tour in Osaka and Nara was absolutely incredible! Our tour was with Christine and Ben and they were so personal and it felt like we were spending the whole day with family. We actually were on a tour with Christine the previous day and it was so good we booked this one with her as well. We visited Nara and spent time with the bowing deer and the kids couldn’t get enough of it! We then went to Osaka and visited a few shrines and the castle. They even took us to a local food spot for lunch and it was DELICIOUS. HIGHLY recommend this tour! Especially with Christine and Ben!
This trip to Japan and Thailand was in honor of my wife’s 75th birthday. Our guide, Ben, was highly personable and very open to questions. His knowledge and expertise of the religious and cultural sites we visited was prodigious, and we especially appreciated the way he helped us understand the meaning of rituals at every temple and shrine we visited. Between our morning in Nara and afternoon in Osaka, Ben took us to a local restaurant, his favorite, where the food was absolutely delicious. Ben took evident pride in his work and the care extended to his clients. I highly recommend booking with this tour operator. You won’t regret a moment.
Our day with Shaniece was absolutely perfect. She is very knowledgeable, kind and flexible. She was able to adjust the itinerary based on our preferences and she shared with us a lot of history and fun facts.
We had a great experience with Yuhei. Super interesting, fun, and easy going guy. He made sure we saw everything and didn’t rush us at all. Highly recommend for a day tour of Nara and to see some of Osaka.
This tour was simply amazing perfectly designed, well-paced, and filled with unique spots that gave us a true feel of the local culture. Every stop had something special: beautiful views, rich history, and moments of wonder. But what truly made it unforgettable was Caroline, our guide. Her passion and energy were contagious, and her English was absolutely flawless — clear, expressive, and natural, making everything easy to follow and deeply engaging. She’s not just knowledgeable, but a gifted storyteller who brings each place to life. Her kindness, humor, and care made us feel like more than just tourists. It was one of the best experiences we’ve had on any trip, and Caroline played the biggest part in that. If you ever have the chance to do this tour with her, take it you’ll walk away informed, inspired, and completely moved. Thank you, Caroline, for an unforgettable day!
I had a great time today. I have been exploring Osaka on my own, but this time, after reading the reviews, I chose Tripadvisor for visiting Nara. The tour guide was very friendly and spoke very good English. I selected hotel pick up and drop it was very convenient. I would like to specially call out the guide Lewis, he us funny and friendly, has very good knowledge about Japan and especially Osaka. He made the trip very comfortable by keeping us informed about everything around us and giving us enough time to look around without rushing. Thank you Lewis 🙂
Taikai Sato was the best of 3 guides we had in Kyoto. He drove us from Kyoto to see the sights in Osaka and back to Kyoto. He accommodated our requests to see specific locations and arranged our visits in the best order. His superior English language skills added to our understanding of Japanese culture and history. We highly recommend Taikai as a guide while visiting this area of Japan.
The trip was great. We had enough time at each location and did not feel rushed. Our guide was Ben and he explained things very clearly and gave good recommendations on where to go and where to eat. My family had a fun time even though it was raining for most of the day. Would definitely recommend this tour!!
We booked Full Day Kyoto Tour for our first day then, Osaka Nara for the 2nd day. This was the best decision to take with this company!! We had a fantastic Osaka and Nara tour with Christine. She was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable, making the day both enjoyable and informative. Everything was well organized, and Christine went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. Her local insights and warm personality made the tour truly memorable. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to visit Osaka and Nara in a day!
