Joel was a fantastic host with an encyclopaedic knowledge of Oxford built from many years of living here. The ghost stories were fun but it was the added info that made it special. A great way for explore the town.
We really enjoyed our tour with Joel! He made us (couple and one dog) feel very welcome and at ease, was super knowledgeable, had a good sense of humor and was very dogfriendly. Was it spooky? Mid July in full daylight, not so much. But I imagine this tour in the dark of winter and I can definitely see it working. The duration and distance were perfect for us, we could ask all the questions we wanted . Recommend!
Entertaining and knowledgeable. Friendly guide. Duration about right.
Joel gave us a great tour. Lots of interesting and funny stories. Mum has slight mobility issues and he slowed it down and made sure she could keep up. She’s also a bit a deaf and heard every word 😂 We recommend you “tick buckets” for this tour. Thanks Joel 5⭐️
Not sure what 'tick buckets' means but expect Joel will tell me when we next speak! Thanks for the review!!
Joel was amazing! He was really knowledgeable and passionate.
Thanks for the review - we're getting a full head of steam up in Oxford now and largely thanks to Joel!
Great experience, very immersive, very expressive.
Thanks!
Joel was great. Fountain of knowledge. Good jokes. High energy. We had a great time. Lots of fun.. tailored to our needs. Highly recommend.
Thanks for the review - and 'high energy' in the heatwaves is no mean feat!!
Very entertaining ghost storys with fantastic story telling
Thanks Sara!
Had a fantastic Tour of Oxford with Joel l, his knowledge and enthusiasm really make this trip! We are local to the area but still learnt so much and would definitely recommend.
Thanks - and wherever we run the tours we find there's so much even long time locals never knew! Thanks again including for name checking Joel!
I took my two sons- aged 10 and 13- on this tour, and we didn't really know what to expect, but it surpassed our expectations. We've lived in Oxfordshire for years, but discovered new parts of Oxford that we'd never known about before. Our tour guide- Joel- was fantastic: entertaining, interesting, and really easy to talk to. Luckily, we were the only ones on this particular tour time, so we had him to ourselves, and got to ask lots of questions. He tailored the tour to their history interests too. My sons haven't stopped talking about it since!
Many thanks - we're new to Oxford but great to get the feedback and I'm sure Joel will be really chuffed! Thanks again and do try our Odd Oxford History tour!
