Óbidos is located in the heart of the West region. Between the mountains and the sea is one of the most sought after places in Central Portugal and today we suggest everything you can visit in Óbidos. Of Roman origin, the town of Óbidos derives from the Latin opiddum, which means “fortified city”. Later occupied by Visigoth and Muslim people, it was reconquered by the first King of Portugal, D. Afonso Henriques, in 1148. Its walls still reveal some marks of the ancient people who settled here, right at the top of the hill, where you can see from a on one side, the Óbidos lagoon and on the other, the Usseira Aqueduct. The right street of Óbidos takes us from Porta da Vila to the Castle. The buildings we find preserve the identity of Óbidos, considered one of the best preserved medieval towns in the world. The different colors of the houses in Vila de Óbidos are yellow, blue, red and grey. This is where everything happens. And it is here that we suggest you start discovering the charms of this village.
Nazaré is a very special place, where tradition and modernity come together and make those who visit fall in love. Located on the central coast of Portugal, 100 km north of Lisbon and 230 km south of Porto, with excellent accessibility, good weather and hospitable people, Nazaré has everything for a memorable holiday. It is also a good place to live, settle and develop economic activities, especially linked to the sea. It benefits from a fishing and recreational port, a business location in the municipality, fantastic beaches and an excellent quality of life. Nazaré was one of the most typical tourist posters in the country, with boats and nets on the beach, with fishermen working on the sand or returning from the sea, and women in their traditional skirts preparing the fish to be sold in regional markets. or be left to dry in the sun; Today, the fishing village has thousands of visitors to see the giant waves up close.
The Nazaré Lighthouse is a Portuguese lighthouse located in the Fort of São Miguel Arcanjo, Nazaré, West region. It is a round, bright red, iron lantern, with a service balcony, mounted on the wall of the fort. The light is on for two seconds and off for one second.

This was a wonderful taste of both areas in Lisbon. Such lovely towns that should not be missed. We had a very small group, only us and another couple (who were great). Our driver/guide, John, couldn’t have sweeter, more accommodating, or knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Highly recommend this!!!!

Van was comfortable and travel was easy, however, felt like we paid for travel. There was not much involvement from guide after drop off at towns.

Wow, wow, wow…what a delightful experience! Like I time-traveled back to the 8th century of medieval times. Our tour guide John is phenomenal. Excellent pre-trip communication. Felt super relaxed and mesmerized the entire time. John is super insightful and knowledgeable of the history, geography and the rich Portuguese culture. Navasali is an excellent guide and driver, he explained to my wife and I some history about Obidos, and in Nazare he was very helpful, in recommending a good restaurant where we eat delicious food. We were very happy with Navasali's guide. Thank you!

This tour to Nazaré and Óbidos exceeded all expectations. Our guide, John (João), was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and made the entire experience feel effortless and enjoyable. It ended up being just my partner and me, which made it feel like a private tour—he customized the day to our pace and interests, which made a huge difference. Both Nazaré and Óbidos were absolutely stunning, each with its own charm and beauty. The only minor downside was missing the season for the famous 100-foot waves in Nazaré—but honestly, everything else about the day more than made up for it. If you’re considering this tour, don’t hesitate. It was everything we hoped for and more.
