So we were upgraded to the dinner cruise for free by the team as the vessel we booked wasnt operating The dinner cruise was lovely, the food and the service were great. You get to see the Statue at night and take photos from the cruise
I always have a good experience with viator except for this one; schedule was late for 40 minutes late to leave from the meeting place ;
We apologize for the late departure due to a mechanical issue. Please call us to see how we can fix this for you.
I was contacted after booking to inform me that the sightseeing boat was unavailable and that my reservation would need to be transferred to another vessel and time. I promptly replied but did not receive a response. After a week with no follow-up, I called the company directly and was finally able to confirm the change. I received an email confirmation, but no tickets were provided. The day before the tour, I received a call stating that I had not rescheduled. After explaining that I had, and referencing my confirmation email, the representative was able to locate the updated booking and confirm it again. Upon arrival, we were directed to slip 4, but when walking toward it, staff members began yelling at us for going too far—despite the lack of clear signage. This created unnecessary confusion and frustration. As for the cruise itself, the vessel was not well suited for sightseeing. The top deck offered only a small outdoor viewing area with no seating for guests with mobility challenges. The interior space had limited visibility; most windows were closed and quite dirty, making it difficult to take photos. The boat was also extremely unstable while docked, rocking noticeably whenever another vessel passed by—enough to cause discomfort and even nausea for some passengers. During the tour, a pre-recorded narration played describing points of interest, but it was delayed by several minutes, so it didn’t match what we were actually seeing. Overall, it’s disappointing that such a promising route with beautiful scenery was diminished by poor organization, unsuitable equipment, and inattentive staff. With a more appropriate vessel and better coordination, this could have been an outstanding experience.
The absolute worst experience!!! I initially booked this cruise on Expedia. As per the instructions on the confirmation email, I called NYC Water Cruises’s customer service number to reschedule the cruise for Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 1pm. I immediately received a confirmation email for that date. I traveled 3 hours into New York City, took a train, a subway, and walked a great distance, only to find that no one from NYC Water Cruises was there at Pier 36!!! I called their customer service number and was told that I was the only person booked on that cruise so the cruise was cancelled!!! No one from management was available to take my call, and the person I spoke with was extremely unsympathetic! I was told that a manager would call me on Monday. I never received phone call from anyone, and had to call several times to speak with someone. The person that I spoke with lied and told me that I had booked my ticket through “get your guide”. I told her I absolutely did not and had no idea what “get your guide” was. I told the person that I had rebooked my cruise by phone and spoke directly with her, and she denied even working for the company at that time! She then had the audacity to tell me that I wasn’t being respectful and hung up on me!!! So, here I am warning you to stay away from this cruise line! They are extremely incompetent and unprofessional!!! I not only wasted 6 hours of my time round trip, but also my Expedia points, and close to $50 for transportation!
The boat was not great. It was big and very little outside space sit or to view the sights. Music was too loud. Definitely a party boat if that’s your goal.
The cruise was amazing! The views of the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan skyline were breathtaking, and the ride was very smooth and comfortable. The staff were friendly, professional, and made the whole experience enjoyable. Everything was well organized and on time. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting New York—it’s the perfect way to see the city from the water!
This cruise was an amazing experience! I went with my friend on the Grande Mariner for the 90-minute Statue of Liberty cruise, and it was truly unforgettable. The boat was clean, comfortable, and well organized. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made the trip even more enjoyable. The views of New York City from the water were breathtaking, especially at sunset. Getting so close to the Statue of Liberty was a special moment, and it was perfect for taking beautiful photos. The entire ride felt relaxing yet exciting at the same time. I highly recommend this cruise to anyone visiting NYC. It’s a perfect way to see the city and the Statue of Liberty from a unique perspective.
Very nice ride, cheap tickets & an enjoyable sightseeing adventure. They offer drinks & food on board but it’s finger food & very expensive (understandably so). Would def recommend for a nice hour and half of relaxing & seeing some landmarks around NY
This 90 minutes were an unforgettable experience! The views of iconic landmarks like the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the Manhattan skyline were absolutely breathtaking, offering a unique perspective of the city that you simply can’t get from land. The Grand Marie is spacious and comfortable, making it easy to move around and capture the perfect photos from various angles. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the trip. The onboard refreshments were a nice touch as well. I loved every moment of this cruise and highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore NYC’s beauty from the water. Thank you, Grand Marie, for an amazing adventure!
