Not Your Typical Osaka Tour — Hidden Art Galleries & Local Lunch

Description
Osaka has a thriving art scene that almost no tourist ever sees. On this private tour, I take you inside independent galleries tucked into backstreets and forgotten buildings — and introduce you to the artists making work there today. This is the Osaka that locals actually care about. Depending on what's showing and what interests you, we visit three to five galleries from a circuit I know well — indie venues that don't appear in guidebooks, set in buildings with their own story. Wherever possible, I introduce you to the people behind the work. We finish with lunch at a local spot I've personally chosen — you pay separately, but the recommendation is part of the tour.Vegan and vegetarian options available. This tour works best for people who are already curious about art, design, or Japanese creative culture — and who'd rather have a real conversation than follow a flag through a crowd. Groups of 2–6 only, always private.

This was a terrific day. I felt very lucky to have Koh all to myself and be able to chat about the local art scene and life in Osaka in general (and I'm quite sure a small group would get the same.) The galleries were perfect selections and Koh happily translated the conversations. Totally enjoyed the whole experience.
The tour was something out of the usual. We visited small photo galleries My guide Koh took the trouble to find out the areas of interest that I had and really made an effort to ferret these otherwise unseen gems . He was also meticulous in explaining the various aspects of the local culture and we also had conversations covering a wide range of topics ! Our lunch was in a quaint Japanese restaurant which served a traditional meal , one where a tourist wouldn’t have been able locate much less patronise! Truly “hidden “ waiting to be discovered
I took part in the gallery tour that I couldn't find myself. I was able to see a lot of good art. He had knowledge of art and entertained me. When I come to Japan again, I want to join the tour again. Thank you.
We went to several art galleries. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The galleries were varied and exactly what we wanted. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to tour galleries in Osaka.

I had a pleasant time with Koh who took me to a tasty sushi restaurant and a few galleries I wouldn’t have found on my own. We spent less time than I expected, a little over 2 hours, but the tour and lunch were worthwhile.
Thanks for leaving your message and joining our art tour! I was really happy to share my experience in Japan with you!! I hope we'll meet again in the future!
