Great way to spend an evening with family and / or friends and enjoy the Hudson, the Boat Band and a beverage or 2.
Very disappointed. We booked this tour specifically for the sunset, but the weather was terrible and it was raining. We even asked before the tour if we would be able to see the Statue of Liberty, and we were told yes. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see it at all. The company should have canceled the tour or at least informed us in advance that the weather conditions would make the experience impossible.
Aram, thank you for booking a cruise with us and taking some time to provide your valuable feedback. We are sorry to hear that the weather had such a negative impact on your experience and that our team did not set the right expectations for the visibility. Our experienced team of captains and managers do their best to interpret the weather forecast for each trip, but unfortunately it can be challenging to predict things perfectly every time. We have reached out to you directly to address your concerns, and we hope to be able to provide you with a great experience on another occasion in better weather! - Caleb at Classic Harbor Line
Please be aware. I have booked a live jazz sunset cruise for my family including a senior. However, the music band was absolutely different and very loud and disturbing. The weather was not great, and I texted earlier to Viator to check about the possible cancellation. Never heard from them. The trip took place and due to rain we neither were able to watch the sunset and we had to sit inside the boat and listened to very loud “sailor songs” which made the whole experience overwhelming and specifically challenging for my older father. I requested a partial refund - will update my review.
Larisa, thank you for booking a cruise with us and taking the time to provide your valuable feedback. We want to apologize for the mix-up that resulted in your booking being on our Sea Shanties Cruise instead of the regular Jazz Cruise you selected. There was a mapping issue that we were not aware of between our ticketing platform and Viator that caused the Jazz option on Viator to book into our Sea Shanties option, and we didn't notice it was a problem until you pointed it out. We're very sorry that the cruise was not at all what you were expecting, especially given the situation with your father. I have reached out to you directly to make amends for our mistake. We appreciate you letting us know about this, and we also apologize for the delay in response to your inquiry about the weather. I see that someone did respond, but it wasn't until the day after, which of course was not helpful. We are sorry that your message was not responded to in a timely manner. We will work to avoid that kind of delay in the future, and we hope to be able to provide you with a better experience on another occasion. - Caleb at Classic Harbor Line
amazing staff and a beautiful experience! Money very well spent while visiting New York for the first time
Take a sunset cruise they said it’ll be awesome they said well let me tell you…. Mom and I booked a July 3rd sunset cruise to see the ships in the harbor in celebration of the country’s 250th birthday. After passing the world financial center we headed straight for the Statue of Liberty- not a long trip. There was a small threat of a storm, but in mere minutes this massive tornado like thunderstorm overtook the harbor. No one could have predicted this massive monster. Clouds circled above and the waves were instantly tossing ships around us. An out of control sailboat nearly hit us. The crew struggled to get us in a different direction so we weren’t pounded by the massive winds- all the while assuring us we were safe. We ended up side by side with the Queen Mary 2 in red hook in calmer waters then spotted our sister ship rescuing a person from the water!!! It was like a scene in a movie.m.If not for the fast thinking and calm crew.. it could have been so much worse. Captain Juana. You are amazing and everyone felt totally safe with you at the helm. Once the storm passed 10-15 min later the most spectacular rainbow and orange sunset appeared. The crew even sat with each table to reassure them all was well. They went above and beyond. The true strength of the crew is when all goes south. Do not hesitate going out with this company. They are seasoned sailors. If I’m being blunt. This was by far the best cruise I’ve ever taken. A little bit of mystery, a little bit of chaos, a wondrous back drop and fast thinking fast acting crew. Don’t be scared by this review. This is a testament to how skilled and professional they are. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
very great experience not too crowded at all and the boat was beautiful. It’s hard to decide whether a later time would’ve sufficed, but the sunset was so nice and we didn’t get to catch too much of the night, but it was still so worth it also a tip pay upfront to secure your seat.
Fantastic evening Crew was incredibly friendly, but was extremely clean. Service was impeccable. I highly recommend this trip.
This was such a fun and relaxing boat ride. The crew was so nice. We got a complimentary drink and a snack plate. It was such a fun activity!!
Great boat, nice service.
