New Orleans Swamp Boat Tour with Shuttle Service

Description
This tour is done on a privately owned wildlife refuge, so what that means for our guests is that there are no other boats. We also do not allow hunting or fishing on our property. The guests will see the Manchac swamp as it is meant to be seen. The animals see the boats as part of their natural habitat, so they are unafraid to stay out in the open for our guests to see. Our boat captains will teach you about the animals that inhabit our swamp, as well as the way of life of the people that once called this swamp home.

Itinerary
After New Orleans pickups are complete, you'll head out to the Manchac Swamp for your 90-minute tour. Manchac Swamp is approximately 30-45 minutes from downtown New Orleans/French Quarter. As your slow-moving pontoon boat drifts through the waterways, you will learn about Louisiana Wetlands, the inhabitants of the swamp, particularly the life and habits of the American Alligator, as well as the unique history of the Cajun town of Frenier within the Manchac Swamp. Swamp creatures, seeing our boats daily, recognize them as part of their normal environment. Unafraid and responsive to their boat captain's call, they peek out from underbrush and between moss-draped trees and shrubs, frequently coming directly to the boat. In the safety and comfort of the boat, you can actually come within a few feet of jumping alligators.

Cajun Pride Swamp Tour with Captain "Bishop". Fantastic sense of humor and knowledge of the area. Though it is the off season for rhe American alligator as well as the day after a tornado watch bringing a chilling wind into the area the captain still knew where to look to not disappoint. Great tour!
We decided to do the swamp tour on the small air boat, we were picked up in New Orleans and taken to the where the boats were and dropped back off. The tour in total was 11.00 am until 2.30 pm which included being picked up the swamp tour and dropped back off in New Orleans. The airboat we had held eight people, nine including the guide. Jay was our driver and guide, he was brilliant telling us history of the hurricanes and how some of the swamp used to be dry land and how his own home was hit. He called the alligators in French we seen one male the first little cove then another male and female baby the next small cove. He fed the alligators with marshmallows and sausage they came to the boat and he actually kissed one. Overall I would definitely recommend this tour.
We had a great experience with Bishop our boat captain. We saw quite a few gators, turtles and raccoons. Bishop was entertaining and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend.
Great Tour! It's definitely a must when visiting New Orleans:-) Our Guide Bishop was Great! Lots of Gators and other wildlife.
Fab Swamp Tour with Captain Judy and her funny stories, incl the alligator wrestling one 😁 Amazing to see the Raccoons and wild pigs sooo close to the boat 😊!! CJ's info throughout was entertaining and would defo recommend.
Everything from the bus ride in to the actual tour was fun! It was well organized and each person was super knowledgeable. We were lucky to have a mini bus tour from Big Joe on our way to the swamp then capt tom took over on the boat. Thank you all for making our trip so special!!
My friends & I booked this in January when they said its unlikely we would see any gators. BUT we got lucky. It happened to be a sunny day and we saw so many. In addition to lost of other wildlife. Our captain was informative, funny, and could tell he really enjoyed what he did. It wasn't just memorized information. I would totally do this again!
I searched multiple swamp tours and landed on Cajun pride tours and I am so happy I found it! It’s been a bucket list item of mine to be able to see gators in the swamp and eventually hold a baby gator! Last time I was in New Orleans I was told that no tours have small gators during the winter months but I called this tour group and they said there would most likely be a baby gator on board. Sure enough, everyone was able to get a chance to hold the baby and get a picture with her. We had Captain Allen and he was great, really knowledgeable about the swamp.
We had a great experience with Cajun Pride swamped too! Our bus driver dropped us off early but a friendly employee, faith, told us where to get some lunch nearby. Our boat guide did a wonderful job. He was very knowledgeable and gave us a local perspective about the wildlife here. We got to see the real Louisiana... including the beautiful swamps and misunderstood alligator. The service was friendly and personable, just like they were entertaining friends. I highly recommend this experience.
We took the tour Christmas week Capt Bishop was our host - he was both funny and very knowledgeable - although most of the wildlife was dormant because of the cold we did manage to see some alligators and a raccoon - they did pass around a baby alligator which my son was impressed with - I recommend this tour worth the money 👍
