This was such an incredible experience! Our guide, Obed, was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. And the Maasai people were some of the most welcoming people I've ever met! The first thing they did when we arrived was to dress us in traditional clothing and jewerly. Then the chief told us about his culture and people, and showed us around his home. We saw demonstrations from the tribal warriors, learned about important herbs and other natural medicines, and saw how they make a fire. At the end, we got to participate in some traditional songs and dances - we were even welcomed to come back to a wedding that will take place later in the week! One final note - toward the end of the experience, you are welcomed to buy some handmade jewerly. It is typically more expensive there than if you buy it in the city, but for me that is okay because I know that the money is going right to the artists and their community (and not just to someone who bought them in bulk from the community to sell to tourists). For me, it is like a donation in which you can receive a gift in return! In short, if you are not sure if the experience is worth the price, then I will tell you now that it absolutely is!
We’re delighted you had a wonderful experience with the community, we appreciate sharing your review. Thanks for booking with us.
Visiting the Maasai Village Cultural Afternoon Experience was one of the most memorable parts of my time in Kenya. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by members of the Maasai community, and I immediately felt a sense of connection and respect. The experience was so much more than a tour—it was an authentic, hands-on introduction to a rich and resilient culture. I got to participate in so many incredible activities: learning how to make fire the traditional way, cooking a local meal with the women, milking goats, and even trying my hand at beadwork. Walking through their homes gave me a deeper understanding of how thoughtfully their spaces are constructed, balancing functionality and tradition. The guides were phenomenal—knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about sharing their culture. They answered every question with patience and honesty, and it felt like a true cultural exchange, not just a tourist experience. I especially appreciated the traditional dancing and storytelling, which brought so much joy and energy to the day. If you’re visiting Nairobi and want to do something truly meaningful, I can’t recommend this enough. It’s a rare and beautiful chance to learn directly from the Maasai people and leave with a deeper understanding of their history, values, and way of life.
Were truly delighted and very greatful you shared your review. Thanks for recommending the tour and booking with us.
We were given warm welcome by Massai warriors and display of war dance. It was educational and a good understanding of the Massai culture. We were invited to view interior of the tiny mud house. It is amazing there is a store, two bed rooms and a kitchen within the mud house. It is enlightening to see demonstration on how fire is made by rubbing two woods on a dry wood fiber on a metal blade to create heat. We also distributed small gifts to the large group of children. An exceptional experience knowing a different culture. Worth visiting.

The Masai village tour was the best tour we did in Kenya. We got to experience life at its most natural state! The Masai were so welcoming, fun and hospitable. Our guide, Mwose, was very accommodating and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone looking for an authentic experience.
