This was the best way of doing a Beatle tour. The taxi driver was so knowledgeable and brought the stories to life. To see where the Beatle live and to drive down Penny Lane was special. Strawberry Fields was beautiful, . I would highly recommend this tour
There are no words to describe how wonderful our tour of Liverpool and the Beatles was. We had 3 couples so we had two cabs. Ian was our tour guide and Gareth was the other. Since we were all together both cards stopped together. At each stop we were given wonderful information. It was just so amazing. From the point I first communicated with Ian to the end of the tour everything was seamless. Highly recommend this tour. We learned so much and fell in love with this city. Thank you Ian and Gareth. You made our day so special.
What a great tour we had with our son. We are going to listen to some of our favorite songs very different now. Ian know what he is talking about. We would recommend him 200%. And he is great at taking pictures also ;-).
An incredibly experience! Ian knows everything there is to know about the Beatles.
Ian gave us the best private tour we’ve had in a very, very, very long time. His color commentary and His organizational skills in bringing the lives of the Beatles to life with perspective and enjoyment made the day fantastic. His commentary with in-depth knowledge of each of the Beatles lives. He was able to tie in their songs with his commentary and the visits making the presentation fantastic. We would highly recommend him.
A truly excellent tour, made very enjoyable by an extremely interesting & knowledgeable guide Ian. Lots of background information on the story of the Beatles from their start to the enduring legacy to the city of today. Thoroughly recommend to all.. A real magical mystery tour 😁
This tour was AMAZING!! If you are trying to decide whether to do the bus tour or a private tour, there is absolutely no comparison…you should book this with Ian! He personalized the tour, took amazing pictures for us, and had a wealth of knowledge. He is a true Beatles fan, and he will deep dive the things you will see. Plus, the taxi can go on streets that the buses are not allowed. To top it off, we met Colin Hanton, the original drummer of The Quarrymen! He was there at the famous first meeting of John and Paul! He was just strolling down Penny Lane, and he stopped to talk to us and tell us about his experience! What a day! If I could give Ian more than five stars, I would! Just book it!!!
Gareth was our guide and he was outstanding. He had a great sense of humor, was engaging, well-versed and simply fun to be with. The tour was a great experience. We ran into similar Beatles tour groups throughout the day, it was obvious to us that we had the best guide.
My wife and I had an absolutely fantastic day in Liverpool, and without question one of the highlights of our entire trip was our Beatles tour with Ian Doyle of Mad Day Out Taxi Tours. From the moment Ian picked us up in his wonderfully decorated Beatles-themed taxi, we knew we were in for something special. The vehicle itself set the perfect tone for what became an unforgettable journey through the history of The Beatles and the city that shaped them. Ian was an outstanding guide — incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about both Liverpool and Beatles history. He took us to all the iconic places connected to the Fab Four: where they were born, grew up, met, practiced, performed, and ultimately began changing music history forever. What made the experience exceptional was not simply seeing the famous locations such as Penny Lane and Strawberry Field, but hearing Ian bring each stop to life with historical context, fascinating stories, and local perspective that we never would have discovered on our own. If you are visiting Liverpool and have even the slightest appreciation for The Beatles, do yourself a favor and book with Ian Doyle. This was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip through England, Scotland, and Ireland. Five stars without hesitation. Highly recommended.
Our driver Ian provided a wonderful Beatles tour through Liverpool with his great taxi and shared a lot of background information with us. In the end, he fulfilled a special request from my friends... a quick trip to the football stadium in Liverpool. Absolutely recommended
