Disappointed with lack of organisation

Complete 💩 show when it comes to organisation ! People being able to Q jump , not impressed. Boat ride itself pleasant enough . Embankment staff , pull your socks up.

A great alternate way to see London

Having visited London many times, we decided to see it from the Thames. We origially thought of a hop on hop off option but soon realise we would be hopping of the see things we had already viewed multiple time. We decided that we could start at Woolwich and had a ticket all of the way to Putney with dozens of stops, this did mean change at The Embankment and to another operator but still just the one ticket. Along the way locals were using the service just like a bus service. If you have the time it is slow paced, relaxing and a different view, no real commentary but most stops speak for themselves.

Operator response

Hello, Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re delighted to hear that you chose to explore London from the Thames and enjoyed the journey from Woolwich through to Putney. It’s great to know you found the trip relaxing and appreciated the unique perspective the river offers. You’re absolutely right—our service is used by both visitors and locals alike, making it a great way to experience the city at a slower pace whilst seeing iconic sights along the route. The flexibility of travelling along the river with multiple stops is something many customers really value. We hope to welcome you on board again soon for another scenic journey. Worst journey i have experienced

The most frustrating journey ever. This isnt cruise but for travellers. Those boarding very rude and impatient to give directions. Nobody ready to explain the journey to you. It was a nightmare.

Do not book a disabled ticket unless you have evidence of your disability

Be aware that if you book a disabled ticket you will be asked to provide evidence of your disability by the pier staff. A most humiliating experience at Battersea Park pier, aggressive staff.

Operator response

Hello, We’re very sorry to hear about your recent experience at Battersea Power Station Pier. This is certainly not the level of service we expect our customers to receive, and we understand how upsetting and uncomfortable this must have felt. While we do have procedures in place regarding disabled ticket eligibility, this should always be handled with sensitivity, respect, and professionalism. We do apologise if this was appeared to be not your experience on this occasion. We would like to look into this further for you. Please could you contact us via the “Contact Us” form on our website and include as much detail as possible so we can investigate and address this with the team involved. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Kind regards Uber Boat by Thames Clippers Team

Highly recommend!

I had a fantastic experience on the Uber Boat in London. The service was efficient, comfortable, and offered some of the best views of the city. It was a refreshing alternative to the Tube, allowing me to enjoy London’s iconic landmarks from the Thames while avoiding crowded trains. The boat was clean, well-maintained, and departed on time. Staff were friendly and helpful, making the journey smooth and enjoyable. The seating was comfortable, and there was plenty of space to relax and take in the scenery. Travelling along the river gave me a unique perspective of landmarks such as Tower Bridge, the Houses of Parliament, and the London skyline. I would highly recommend the Uber Boat to both visitors and locals looking for a convenient and scenic way to travel around London. I will definitely use it again.

Fab journey today and beautifully looked after by Norman at Tower Hill. He gave me shade and a seat while a rowing race held up the boats. Thank you Norman! Iconic boat commute in the world’s best city.

The best way to get around

Uber Boat is my favourite way to get around London. I live here, and the boat is mostly full of tourists, but I still take it home whenever I have the chance (instead of the Tube). So much more scenic!! The staff are always very friendly. Today I met David Notarius who was very friendly and chatty and helpful!

Rip off Uber

Rip off. £9.10 from tower gateway to westminster pier and doesn't accept zone 1-6 on my SWR monthly season ticket!

Operator response

Hello, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback with us. We understand your concerns regarding the fare for crossing the river, and we appreciate you taking the time to express your thoughts. While I understand that a journey of that duration may seem costly, our pricing structure is based on several factors, including the operational costs of maintaining a safe, reliable, and frequent service across the Thames. These costs include vessel maintenance, fuel, staffing, and pier fees, which contribute to the overall fare structure. Shorter journeys, though brief in duration, involve many of the same operational considerations as longer ones. That being said, we do continuously review our pricing to ensure it remains competitive while still covering the costs of delivering the service. I will certainly pass your feedback to the relevant team for consideration in future fare reviews. Your feedback has been shared with our teams further further review. Oyster cards are a valid form of payment

What we discovered after the fact was that we could have used our oyster card, knowing this would have saved us quite a bit of time looking for, and booking tickets. It was fun taking a single journey ride at night to see the city lights from the river, the view is great. Unlike a tourist river ride where a guide points out places of interest, this uber ride stopped at quays down the Thames similar to a bus stop.

Operator response

Hello, Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the evening views from the river. For future trips, Oyster and contactless payments can be used for quicker boarding. Our services run like a river “bus,” stopping at multiple piers rather than offering guided tours—but it’s great to hear you found it a fun way to see the city!
