This private experience will start with a private pick-up by Mercedes sedan/minivan at your hotel in Milan. Your private and friendly English-speaking driver will take you to explore the beautiful Lake Maggiore. After arriving to the town of Stresa, a nice ferry-boat ride will take you to the Borromean islands. Here you will explore the magnificent Borromean Palace and the stunning gardens offering amazing views on the lake. On the island you can enjoy lunch and then continue the tour with your driver and if you wish you may stop to visit the Eremo of Santa Caterina, an ancient monastery. At the end of the day, your private driver will take you back to your hotel in Milan. This is a private experience and you will not be part of a group

This private daytrip will take you to lake Maggiore, less known but equally or even more beautiful than the world famous lake Como
After about one hour drive from Milan, your private driver will take you to the charming town of Stresa, with its beautiful waterfront. From here you can take a boat to the nearby Borromean Islands
With a quick ferry-boat ride of 10 minutes (tickets included) you will reach Isola Bella, the lovely island in front of Stresa. Here you can wander around, have lunch and visit the beautiful Palace Borromeo with its amazing gardens.
Palace Borromeo is a magnificent residence dating back the 17th century. Located in the tiny Isola Bella island is surely worth a visit for the magnificent interiors: the King and Queen's room, the theatre, the grottos, the Napoleon room and more. But even more stunning are the gardens around the palace that offer amazing views on the lake
If you wish you may also stop to the pretty Fishermen island, right in front of Isola Bella
If time allows you will reach the Eremo di Santa Caterina, an ancient monastery on the lake

We had a lovely day out of Milan, we were picked up by private transfer at 9am driven to Stresa where the driver purchased our ferry tickets and checked the time table to ensure we would be back at the correct time. We spent longer on Isola Bella where we bought our own tickets to view the Palazzo and gardens which were spectacular. We had lunch in a lovely restaurant near the castle (Il Fornello) and then took the ferry to Isola Superiore where we walked around and then returned to Stresa by ferry and connected with our driver and on back to Milan. It was very well organised day, which had been well communicated in advance and simple. It was a nice time of year to go as although busy, it was not overrun with people. We chose to eat on Isola Bella as we found a nice small restaurant and the timetable for the ferry was convenient to us. Sadly the sun did not come out but the temperature was mild and it did not rain!
We had a great day with this tour. Our driver was amazing. He did a great job driving and explaining the details of our trip. This is a good low key trip, perfect for a last day of your vacation.
