Be amazed by the lush vegetation on its 70mtr high walls, the huge Vulcanic rocks at its foot, and the amount of water splashing down in its massive pool. We take time to bask in its beauty and the brave ones can go out and take a super refreshing dip.
Going up some steep steps we arrive on top of the huge mass of lava rocks. Following a trail that is cut out through the rocks we climb our way up the slopes of the Arenal. Reaching the highest Viewpoint that exist around the Volcano we can absorb the most spectacular panoramic views.

This tour was absolutely amazing! The waterfall hike was excellent and you were not rushed to get pictures or explore a little on your own. Carlos and Axel were so knowledgeable of the area and were able to show us so much wildlife we would have missed if we hiked on our own. The hike to the Arenal volcano overlook was a great experience to get more information on the area and the history. Carlos was happy to answer any questions and tried really hard to find us monkeys. He did spot 4 sloths and made sure everyone got a chance to get a good look at them! You end your day by relaxing in the springs and you have to check out the slide!
Amazing full-day tour and honestly a highlight of our trip to La Fortuna! The combination of the waterfall, Arenal Volcano hike, and hot springs was perfect—active and rewarding without ever feeling rushed. Everything was planned perfectly, you get a LOT for your money. A huge shoutout to our guide, Rasta, who was incredibly accommodating. He pointed out amazing wildlife, showed us the best swimming spots at the waterfall, and gave great local food recommendations. The catered lunch and fresh fruit were delicious, and ending the day at the hot springs was the perfect touch. The entire staff was so kind, fun, and welcoming. Highly recommend!
Renee and Emmanuel were amazing and gave us an unforgettable experience. They were very knowledgeable and made sure to take us to many different areas and experience different things. We had an amazing time.
Despite not being able to swim at the waterfall the day was worth it. Loverly food great guides and some amazing photos.
Diego was an amazing guide for the tour and was so helpful in explaining the schedule and hyping us up when the hiking got difficult! He was super funny and knowledgeable. Highly recommend the tour to anyone!

Franklin was awesome!!! Very knowledgeable, funny, and you can tell he loves MOMMY NATURE! All three guides were wonderful, but Franklin stole the show. Unfortunately the weather was bad on our tour and we did not get to swim in the waterfall. But, we “can’t control the weather Jackie!” I would recommend this. We took our time and took as many breaks as needed. Thank you Red Lava tours! P.S. What an Amazing lunch. Thank you cooks and staff!

Great experience. Diego and JC did an great job at making sure we were immersed into the experience. The hike is absolutely worth it for the views that we got to experience!!!! The waterfall was amazing and so scenic, the volcano was so peaceful and beautiful. I'm so glad I was able to get this experience as a first time traveler to COSTA RICA!!!
