We had a wonderful time. Two adults and three kids around 10 years old. As mentioned before it was tricky to find. Google maps got us to the area but it was unclear which elevator to take. Do not take the elevator you can see from the street, instead go 10 or 20 steps into the building from KIYAMACHI-DORI street (the street along the small stream). The elevator will open directly to the restaurant/class. If you take an elevator and it opens to a little hallway you are in the wrong place. Enjoy!
This was such an amazing date experience. We originally thought this was going to be a group experience but found it to be a nice private session for the two of us. Chef Yoshi picked out all the fresh ingredients that morning and was an excellent teacher helping us make various types of sushi. The fish and Wagyu was amazing and melted in your mouth. We asked for one of the waygu pieces to be lightly flamed on top and it was exquisite! The translator Yukie spoke perfect English and was able to help teach us along with the Chef. She mentioned wanting to open her own tour company and we cannot wait to come back and have her show us around when she finally does! 10/10 Overall great experience learning to make high quality sushi and then eating it.
A fun, informative, delightful experience for the whole family. Mom, Dad and three kids, ages 18,14 and 11, thoroughly enjoyed the well organized activity. The hospitality was exceptional, and was matched only by the incredible sushi we created and dined on. The best ever family fun in Kyoto!
We are happy to meet and learn sushi making from Chef Tsuneo san and assistant Chatu son. Fresh ingredients were ready when we came. We charred the beef and they melt in your mouth! The salmon and other seafoods are also yum! The cold sake was a great pair to wash them down! Sushi making takes practice to perfect! But hey, like art you create your own version! The only thing difficult is to find the place! We got lost many times but it's good they accommodated us when we turned up late and was a Culture holiday! Hope they can give landmarks to their place and can connect with their guests early through whatsapp or email. Overall, it was still a great experience!
Thank you for joining our experience. We are glad you liked our wagyu beef . We are very sorry that our restaurant was not easy to find for you. We will put the information on the road or sending advance notice so that guests can arrive smoothly. We were really happy that you two lovely people enjoyed . Thank you very much.
It was a very nice experience with a lot of laughs. It‘s a fun team and i learned how to do (and how to not do 😅) sushi :) eating self-made delicacies was a cherry on top, recommended if in Kyoto! :)
We had a fantastic experience learning to make sushi, everyone was incredibly friendly and the food was delicious! Thanks a lot!
We had a great experience! The sushi making experience was very fun and we learned a lot about how to make sushi and culture 😊 Meat sushi was also a very delicious and satisfying experience! The craftsmen were also friendly and nice. It is a recommended experience!
The general and the staff were very friendly and attentive to the details. My American friends who came to Kyoto were very happy too! I'm Japanese, but it was my first time making sushi! Recommended for both first-timers and internationals!
I went with a Canadian friend. It was an experience of Wagyu beef sushi, but I had a very good time. The experience of making sushi by myself allowed me to experience the techniques of sushi chefs. I had freshly fried crispy tempura with Wagyu beef sushi at this restaurant where you can also enjoy tempura. It was an exquisite combination and we discovered a new taste. Furthermore, the general was very kind and very courteous in his response. He explained passionately about sushi making and taught me how to eat it. That made me feel even more attracted to sushi. It was a wonderful experience, not only because of the deliciousness of Wagyu beef sushi, but also because of the hospitality of the people who serve it.
