The hotel experience was beautiful from start to finish. The drive to the hotel was awesome and really set the tone for a great stay. The food was amazing, the staff were very friendly, and the service was spot on. The rooms were also super clean and very comfortable. I would definitely go back there again on a whim. A special mention to the guy making omelettes in the morning, he was incredibly friendly and made the breakfast experience even better. Please retain that guy😊.

I was only here for 2 nights but I did the hot air balloon safari and 3 jeep safari/game drives and managed to see so much wild life it was magic. I did not see a leopard or rhino, but that just means I have to come back! All the staff, without exception are wonderful, especially the lady in the restaurant, Judy . I did not get the names of many people, but everyone was super helpful and friendly. Many thanks to Luca for the epic balloon safari. If it hadn’t been cancelled the next day, I was going to make Alex take me to gatecrash the champagne breakfast for my birthday !!! I was given a fantastic happy birthday in Swahili and a lovely cake too. And came away with a little Keekorok bear to remember everyone by. A big thank you to Alex, my jeep driver/safari guide, who had to put up with me alone in his jeep talking non-stop for 3 safaris! He has the eyes of an eagle and always finds the animals:) Lovely accommodation, fantastic food, very safe and secure. Thank you all I WILL BE BACK!

We had a lovely stay at Keekorok The staff led by Judy made the stay quite exceptional. The rooms are clean and I loved the net above the bed. We had no problem with bite. The hippo pool is amazing to watch and only a short walk I love to eat the food of the country I visit and I really enjoyed the Kenyan food offerings but there were other options too. The breakfasts were great especially the omelette station which was my favourite. The serving staff could not do enough to help I would thank them for making my stay memorable

Delightful stay at the Keekorok resort we received a very warm welcome from Nemo. The rooms were spacious comfortable with a refreshing shower experience. Kennedy in the hippo bar looked after us well while we gazed upon bloat of hippos. Stanley looked after our rooms and insured we have everything needed. The restaurant staff were very attentive with a wide variety of food choice. Emmanuel was the perfect game driver host for four days with excellent driving skills and ensured we saw the big 5 and a plethora of other wildlife including a fascinating trip to the local village where we experienced a tour and participated the local dance rituals.

Excellent place to stay. Nemo is excellent manager as well as all the staff at the hotel. The hotel is in the best location in Maasai Mara. If you are lucky you do not have to drive far to see the wildlife. There is a hippo pool at the hotel and one of the best hotels to see hippos in the Mara at very close range. Rooms are clean and the food is good. Definetely will recommend Keekorok. Thank You Ismail N stayed in sep 2024

We stayed in a cosy lodge which although was basic it was clean, cosy and had everything we needed. Our guide Dennis was fantastic and went the extra mile to ensure we got the best sightings every day.It was unreal to see so many beautiful animals in their natural surroundings and be able to photograph them close up. The restaurant meals were varied and tasty and the staff were very attentive to our requests. Optional excursions were expensive but worthwhile, would highly recommend the hot air balloon trip. Fabulous people who made us feel at home.

We look forward to welcoming you back for another incredible adventure! Thank you. Warm regards, Clara.
This is a large very touristy type Lodge--Disappointing. I booked for myself, cousin, and his son and daughter-in-law. Price was reasonable--especially due to high season--mainly due to other smaller camps where I usually booked are extremely high some were full. We did flying service --Governor's aviation and that was part of the whole package. KWS --park fees have increased and for Non-Resident they were $100 a day per person. I understand --now they are $200 a day---very high. We arrived early and Cynthia did an excellent job checking us in--and changing our room as myself and cousin are very tall and did not want a single bed. We did use independent Masai Driver--which was okay. he did know the area and was well versed on the game in the area. He did bring along another Masai to accompany us--but driver--Jackson--did the talking. We did see Lots of Lions-- cheetahs at a distance, and supposedly a leopard--I only saw leopard's kill in tree and supposedly where she was in bushes--but I never saw her--hard to get close due to so many vehicles. Lions were plentiful and saw everything except Rhino. These are hard to see any longer in M. Mara. Leopard maybe.---do be prepared for 25 to 30 vehicles surrounding the cats especially---which I hate. If you are looking for a quiet serene place this is Not the place to go. Also very kid friendly but here again--if you want to not be around kids---do some other camp. This lodge has nice lodge-type accommodations. Showers did not have very good hot water. Swimming pool--but we didn't use or spa service. Also they have a Hippo pool by camp--so if like hippos--this is a plus. Do be aware that this camp is not fenced in---so hippos and game can come into camp--supposedly guards to walk you at night---but most of the time they were busy . But not much game around camp--due to long grass--I think. We drove quite a ways to see typical game. Unlike some--this is not Tents. Room I stayed in was spacious and nice King Size bed. but I did hear couple next door. Water---Coffee and Teas provided in room--but cheap instant Nescafe coffee.. My cousins hot water kettle did not work. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all buffet style. Water, Sodas, other drinks are all extra costs. Teas and Coffee are available but you serve yourself from patio outside. Many young trainees waiting on you. Be prepared to have huge crowds at meal times. Some are very aggressive and pushy. They provided for different ethnic groups on buffet. They did have one chef that was cooking fresh stir fy, pastas, or breakfast--cook to order eggs. Over all this did not feel like you were in the bush--doing a Safari--bit feels like large hotel in the bush. Not for me--actually I think 3 stars is a generous offer.
I was very surprised to see the other reviews for this hotel were so high because it is not a 5 star lodge/hotel by any American standard. First, I will say the game drives that we went on in the Masai Mara Reserve were the best of the 3 reserves we visited in Kenya and Tanzania so in that regard the area is top-notch. There are lions everywhere and tons of other game. We got to see a cheetah stalk and kill an impala here and that was an amazing thing to see in real life. Specifically, the Keekorok lodge is old and in desperate need of repairs. Looking at the roof from the exterior there looked to be some areas where it was caving in. There is no AC in the rooms but we were there during a cooler period so it was not unbearable. They include an oscillating fan in the room but ours did not work so that was no help at night. The bedding is not something I had ever experienced before because it felt rough like laying on a cheap paper towel. I joked with my wife that it had a thread count of 10, it honestly felt like it might be disposable or something. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, they did whatever was asked of them to make the guest's stay pleasant. The food is where they need to make immediate changes. There is only one restaurant so your choices are limited right out of the gate. All meals were served buffet style and there was not a very large selection and it was not plentiful. We expected the staff would refill the buffet entrees and sometimes they did and sometimes they did not. Our first lunch there was happened to be about 30 minutes before the end and there was not much to eat and nothing was refilled. Breakfast is usually a basic meal and most places can meet your needs, but this was also lacking. The eggs will be an issue for American diets and caused some major GI stress for my family the day we tried them. I later saw online the chickens in Kenya or mostly free range and the birds eating things resulting in contaminated eggs. We should have known there was an issue when the scrambled eggs were all white. The first omelet I saw being made I assumed was an egg white only omelet but it was not. By breakfast our last day we were eating bread and coffee. I do not know the cost of this hotel because we stayed here as part of larger tour in Egypt and Kenya. However, we were in 4 and 5 star hotels throughout and this place felt like a big step down. I would not recommend it unless it is cheaper than other lodges in Masai Mara.
This was my first safari and it was amazing. Our guide was called Dennis ( not his official name obviously) I think we were very lucky to have him. He is very committed and certainly knows the animals and their habitats very well. A real love for them and passionate about his work. We got to see every single animal that we had hoped to. Even on our very last morning we were supposed to be going for a quick drive and jokingly requested that we hadn’t seen a rhinoceros 🦏…he didn’t bring us back until we had 🥰 Dennis went above and beyond each time he took us out, and certainly didn’t rush to get us back. The staff were also really friendly and accommodating, my only criticism sadly was on the morning we left one of the party had a nasty fall. Again the staff that saw it happen were very concerned and tried to help. They were finally able to get the guest to reception and again Dennis was there to take us to the air strip. He was shocked to see the state of the guest but was assured a few plasters were needed to get us to the airport then we could see a First Aider. He went off to find the nurse to get some help and she wouldn’t come out and said to get the person to hospital. This was totally unnecessary and there was a plane to catch. Dennis was very upset by the nurses lack of care….as were all of us.
Hello, Thank you for sharing your first safari experience with us. We're delighted to hear that Dennis made it such a memorable and fulfilling adventure for you, ensuring you saw every animal you hoped for and going above and beyond to accommodate your requests. We're sorry to hear about the incident with the fall, and we'll address this concern internally to ensure better handling in the future. Your feedback is invaluable, and we hope to welcome you back for more incredible safaris in the future. Regards Sylvia
