Lovely local, family-owned kayaking on a super calm river. You also get the opportunity to kayak to the bay and swim around for a while. It really is a hidden gem. I went with 3 other people and they had two double kayaks for us. If you want to get in touch with nature, this is a great opportunity for that. Everything about it makes it so worth it. I would highly recommend building a day around doing this, it was the highlight of my trip!
Family-owned business launching kayaks on a pristine, picturesque river off of the Kahana Bay. Super easy kayak, independent activity, and great location. Such a hidden gem and would recommend to anyone visiting the island: support local family businesses vs. the large enterprises on Oahu, so much good stuff off of the beaten Hilton / Bonvoy path!!!
Outstanding! We were truly amazed by this hidden gem that’s been in the family for over 100 years. You can really feel and appreciate the history, it makes the experience so special. And they have the absolute cutest dog, which was such a sweet bonus. We’ll definitely be back!
I almost hate to let the secret out, but this is a wonderful self guided kayaking with no dragging your kayak across streets and a deep beach like the company Kailua. Your dock is right in the river. There are only a few kayaks allowed a day and you paddle up with bird song. When you turn around you go out into the ocean. There is a huge reef so it’s flat calm waters. There is also a huge beach that usually only has a dozen or less people on it. The family that runs this is absolutely the warmest kindest people you’ll meet while you’re on the island. thank you for offering us a wonderful afternoon experience!
We had a great time! This is a family-run business with a wonderful family. Daughter said to give it 10 Stars! We were able to paddle a ways inland and enjoy rope swings. Then we paddled out into the bay. Can’t recommend this tour enough. You won’t be sorry!
It was a beautiful experience. We paddled up the river as far as we could the turned around and went to the beach and spent some time out there in the ocean. The people who run it were wonderful and helpful.
Shame on Kahana Adventures for making us feel guilty over nothing today, and causing us to turn around and not go enjoy the river. Seriously, they have an attitude problem. They could have handled our interaction so differently, with positivity and kindness, but they chose guilt and nastiness. I hope they treat others better than they treated us today. I hope karma comes back to bite them 10x. We were definitely late, but we had no service and couldn't call ahead. They need to change their attitude. Avoid these jerks.
We booked the kayak tour with Kahana Adventures, and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Oahu. The whole process was super easy, and Jay was kind, helpful, and made us feel totally prepared to head out on our own. The kayak and gear were in great condition, and the instructions were clear and simple. Once we got on the water, it was just beautiful—peaceful surroundings, lush mountains, and a real sense of calm. Highly recommend Kahana Adventures to anyone looking for a fun and peaceful way to explore this beautiful part of the island!
This was a wonder kayak trip up the river and into the ocean. What a beautiful river. The equipment was newer and worked great. Lena was amazing. She is so friendly and helpful. Would definitely come here again
Beautiful and serene setting. This has become my new favorite place to kayak. We started out kayaking toward the mountains and the views were just breathtaking. We went as far as we could go without getting stuck and then made the trek back toward the sea, with a stop on the shore to rest and enjoy the views. The owners were friendly and kind. Would definitely do this again and have recommended this adventure to many! Mahalo!
