Holbox Island Tour "A Natural Paradise" Description: Specially designed for those who are staying in Cancun, Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel or Tulum so they do not miss the opportunity to know the wonderful Holbox Island in a day without necessarily having to stay there. Holbox Island, one of the beauties of the world, is located on the northern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula, in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico and is within the boundaries of the wildlife protection area called "Yum Balam "which is an ecological reserve. To the east it borders Cabo Catoche and Laguna Yalahau separates it from the mainland. Holbox Island measures 43 kms. long and its beaches of fine sand are constantly adorned with the seashells that drag the current of the clear jade-colored sea that bathes the island. Isla Holbox is only about 2 hours from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and the Riviera Maya. Chiquilá: Then we will go to the next stop in Chiquilá (10 min by road) there our boats with their respective captains and professional guides will be waiting for you to start the visit of Isla Birds and Isla Passion ideal place to contemplate an infinity of different varieties of tropical birds as well as pink flamingos Cenote Yalahau: The beautiful Yalahau Lagoon is a natural paradise surrounded by mangroves and separates Holbox Island from the mainland. Birds Island (passion island): Also in the lagoon is Isla Morena, also called Isla Pájaros, which is the home of more than 140 species of birds that make their nests. It is common to find on the island Ibis Blancas, Frigates, White Egrets, Double-crested Cormorants, White Pelicans, Red Egrets, Pink Spatulas, Herons, Gray Pelicans and Pink Flamingos among others. Holbox Island: We are not finished yet, since after the meal, we will invite you to meet and tour in golf carts (4 people maximum per cart) for an hour and a half from 2 pm to 3.30 pm, the wonderful Holbox Island, its sandy streets, its people and its fishing village. Since ancient times, Holbox Island was already considered a place of extreme beauty and was used as a place of comfort and relaxation by the ancient Maya. When the Spaniards arrived in the 16th century, they found the abandoned Holbox Island, but as before, they were amazed at its unique beauty. It includes: Transportation from Cancun or Playa del Carmen to Chiquila in Van with air conditioning and television. Visit the town of Chiquila to have breakfast for everyone on their own (Empanadas de Cazon y Raya) Boat trip for more than 3 hours with a trip to a cenote and two islands: Entrance Cenote Yalahau which is a spring or water eye (Cenote for bathing). We have Pick ups, from Puerto Juarez to Playa del Carmen, in some places like the Center of Cancun they are meeting points, as in Puerto Morelos and Playa del Carmen, in the Hotel Zone of Cancun we go to 90% of the lobbies of the hotels, and about the Riviera Maya at 90% of the hotel lobbies, to the Tulum Center (Super AKI)

Very good excursion and coordination, but unfortunately changed the plans due to rain and that the captaincy of port suspended hired boats
The trip to the island, the visit to Cenote and the organization there was good. Isla Holbox is a beautiful island. The food and especially our guide was great. The free time you had there was also more than enough to look around. We were, however, much more than the stated 16 people and with about two large coaches there, but what actually did not disturb further. What was not stated is that you drive from Cancun to Playa del Carmen and there are still other tourists picked up. So instead of the 2 hours to Chiquila, we were on the road for another 2 hours. Same game on the way back. Overall it was a 16h trip, of which we spent almost 8 hours on the bus. It would have made much more sense if a bus had started from Cancun and a bus from Playa del Carmen. So it was very uncomfortable for the people of Cancun.
Hosting was disappointing in the food the restaurant even the thematic left much to be desired, poor staff service, lack of sympathy and goodwill when serving the guest and cleaning the rooms always aspects of dirty without replacement soaps and other items
We arrived on Sunday, June 16, 2024, type 20 to Holbox...we were looking for a place to eat...a lot of rain...a lot of water in the streets; exhausting trip from Chile... more than an hour and a half in immigration control... upon arriving in Cancun...
It is a little impacted place many fish birds near the beach the sea water is very nice hot everything I recommend if you like this type of tourism
First of all I want to say that isla holbox is very beautiful and definitely worth a visit. But not with this tour / this company. We were picked up in canun - hotel zone and then drove to playa carmen to pick up other guests. All this made no sense because it was a huge detour. Cenote and passion island were canceled, supposedly because of the wind. Then we were promised that we would go directly to isla holbox instead and would stay there longer than planned. (Since cenote + passion island was canceled one had additional time) the organization was a mess, we were picked up at 06:00 at the hotel and were only at 12:30 in Isla Holbox and finally could only stay until 15:00 on the island. That means ONLY 3 hours. After that we had lunch and went back to the hotel. That means we were 12h in the bus and only 3h on the island. According to the navigation device, the trip would actually be only 2.5 hours away!!!! Huge rip-off. A total of 55 participants and a huge chaos, no overview.
The points of interest were fantastic the stops where clean an organized . Fulfilled day. Was very good trip
Very nice experience with Enrique from Ekinox who organized this getaway at a super affordable price for 3 visit points starting with - the small town of Chiquila then - private boat for the small paradise of Holbox village still preserved from tourism "concrete building" - then back up by boat to the island of passion type “Tahiti” only a few inhabitants - lunch on the water with the "Captain" ceviche, drinks.... - continuation always by boat to an isolated island crocodile ALL inclusive for a bath in an open Cenote Yalahau And all with the good humor of Enrique You have to do it and thank you 👏
It was not a small group. A big bus full of people. Arturo (Brad Pitt) was good and friendly guide. I loved speedboats and mototaxis but staff didnt speak english at all. All Inclusive was breakfast (toast, juice, cookie, apple). Lunch was great but No drinks included. I got only two drinks in a speedboat. Holbox is beautiful but the beaches were full of seagrass. Long day but i liked it anyway
The staf is super kind and the they have a lot of knowledge about the caves and marine life. Everything was perfect. I highly recommend this tour.
