This was a wonderful experience! I enjoyed learning about the foundations and history of Ikebana and having the chance to create my own arrangement. Ryoko is so nice and knowledgeable, — a great memory from my time in Kyoto, highly recommend. I look forward to practicing my new skills when I get home.
Very enjoyable. Hannah is a great teacher and host. We learned a lot about Ikebana and made pretty flower arrangements.
I'm so happy you enjoyed it. Thank you for coming!
Took my mum for this as a birthday gift and she absolutely loved it. Very friendly, accessible, beautiful flowers, and learned a lot about the history and tradition of ikebana. Maximum 4 people (we were alone) per class, which is great so you really get a personal experience
Thank you for joining the ikebana class with me. I'm so happy to hear that she loved it! I enjoyed spending time with you both!
A wonderful introduction to ikebana with a very friendly teacher. Everything was excellent, highly recommended.
Thank you for coming, Peter! I had a great time spending time with you and I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed it.
More than merely a drop in the ocean of Ikebana, Ryoko’s thoughtful class let us actually wade in the water. An excellent introduction that gave us enough tools to try flower arranging at home. In a very hands on class, she was able to open the door to refinement and subtlety. She was encouraging of our own aesthetic and constantly amazed us with minor adjustments that transformed our efforts into real art.
Thank you for trying ikebana with me while you were in Kyoto! I'm really happy to hear that the workshop resonated with you. If you try it at home, you're always welcome to share your work with me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/hanayou.studio/
I joined an ikebana as a beginner and really enjoyed it. I learned a lot about balance, harmony, and the meaning behind flower placement. The instructor was very patient and knowledgeable. By the end of the class, I created my own arrangement and gained a deeper appreciation for ikebana. It was a relaxing and enjoyable experience that I highly recommend.
Thank you for joining my ikebana class in Kyoto! I'm so happy to hear it was a relaxing and enjoyable time for you!
It was our very first experience of Ikebana. We had such a relaxed and interesting session with Ryoko. We we guided through creating a display. The whole session covered so much more with historical and cultural perspectives. It goes without saying that we enjoyed ourselves immensely and would definitely go back again if we revisit Kyoto. Highly recommended.
Thank you so much for taking my class. I enjoyed hearing about your garden. I hope you're able to continue your ikebana journey when you return home!
I had a great time at HanaYou's ikebana workshop and would recommend it to anyone seeking a low-pressure environment to make some lovely flower arrangements. All the flowers provided were very beautiful and in-season. I already knew a little bit about ikebana but still felt that I got a lot of value out of the class. We also got to take photos of our creations afterwards which was a nice touch! There's lots of lovely shops, cafes and bakeries in the neighbourhood too so when you come here you'll find plenty to do before and after your class!
Thank you for your kind words! I was impressed to hear about your previous ikebana experience and I'm so glad you felt the session was valuable for you.
This is a wonderful and intimate Ikebana experience! Ryoko is super nice and patient and teaches you the foundation of Misho-ryu school ikebana before you letting you experiment on your own. It's a perfect balance of instruction and freedom. We got to work with three different flowers/grasses, and half of us used different combinations. Ryoko's final advice really improved my arrangement, making me very happy.
Thank you for the review! I'm happy that you enjoyed the structured guidance as well as the freedom to experiment. Thanks for sharing a photo of your arrangement. I love to see it!
First Ikebana lesson in Kyoto! Entrance is a little tricky to find...and turn out to be a homey and warm house with relaxing vibe. So happy to find a friendly teacher communicating in good English! The instructor practice Misho-ryo style. She used to teach in New York and they recently opened a new classroom here. It was a session of four and I like the small scale class. As a begginer, I appreciate the attentiveness and being able to ask questions and get help easily. I definitely learnt a lot ! Thank you for the great experience 😊 🙏🏻 I would look forward to learn more from her!
Thank you for coming to the ikebana session at HanaYou! It was a joy to do ikebana with you. I'm glad you found it relaxing and hope you'll come back. We'll work on making the entrance easier to find 😊
