Overall trip was good and the bus stopped at the usual attraction except the colleseum as the stop was closed. THe only downside was We stayed near the Vatican and the pick up point for thbus was a 20 min walk and I thought all the companies were a little expensive.
Dear Guest, We are pleased to know that you enjoyed your overall experience and that our route allowed you to visit Rome's main attractions. Regarding the Colosseum stop, unfortunately it was removed by the municipal authorities without prior notice and without any possibility for us to intervene. This decision has had a significant operational impact on our service, and we regret the inconvenience it has caused. We also appreciate your comments about the distance to the nearest stop and the ticket price. Your feedback is valuable and helps us continue improving our service. We hope to welcome you on board again during your next visit to Rome. Kind regards, I Love Rome Hop On Hop Off City Tour
refused entry with carry on suitcase
Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We understand your disappointment; however, our policy regarding luggage is clearly in place for safety and comfort reasons. Our buses are designed to transport passengers, not to serve as luggage storage. The available space must remain accessible for all passengers, including those travelling with strollers and wheelchair users, who must always be given priority. If every passenger were to bring large suitcases on board, there would simply not be enough room to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for everyone. Kind regards, I Love Rome Hop On Hop Off City Tour
Whilest I like the idea of hop on hop off buses in major cities, I don’t think Rome does it very well. Not sure why the buses cannot stop directly in front of the sites. Most of the sites are a good 10-15 min walk away from where the bus leaves you. You’re better off getting a taxi in and than walking around to most of the attractions yourself. We paid $151 for a 48hr pass and only used it from stop 6 to 7!! (Castel sant’angelo stop to Spanish steps). The rest we did by foot and on the next day just caught a taxi to Vatican to tick that one off the list. Wouldn’t do this again in Rome.
Drop of and collection places pretty far from the tourist destinations ( understandably ) however another bus tour company seemed to go past main roads also so the hop on places seemed far more convenient
Dear Customer, We are sorry that the route did not fully meet your expectations. Please note that all Hop On Hop Off companies operating in Rome are subject to the same traffic regulations and municipal restrictions, and therefore follow very similar routes and stop locations. The majority of Rome's main attractions are either very close to our stops or the buses pass nearby, and in most cases the walking distance is no more than about four minutes. However, during the summer heat these short walks can understandably feel longer than they actually are. It is also important to remember that Rome has many pedestrian areas and traffic restrictions designed to protect its historic centre, which inevitably limit how close any sightseeing bus can get to certain monuments. False information about stops. It neither passes by nor stops at the Colosseum. Some headphone ports do not work. Very dirty bus. We asked to remove the roof late in the afternoon, and he denied it to us.
Saludos cordiales, I Love Rome Hop On Hop Off City Tour
This bus was extremely underwhelming. We felt like we were on a city bus just picking up people. The only scenic thing we saw was the Colosseum. All the stops were far from everything and when we plugged our earphones in . We could hear anything. Both adaptors were broke. Never had this experience on Big Bus. Will definitely stick with them next time!!
Horrible experience they only have 4 busses and only 3 work today. The busses come once every 1.5 hours and are completely packed with not enough space to accommodate your party. Don’t waste your money or time!! Very difficult to get a refund.
Dear Guest, It is understood how disappointing your experience must have been. Yesterday we experienced exceptional operational issues, with several buses suffering technical breakdowns and one of our drivers becoming unwell during service. Having so few buses in operation is absolutely not our usual standard of service. Regarding your refund request, our staff on the street are unfortunately not authorised to issue refunds directly. Refund requests are handled by our administrative office, and customers are invited to contact us at openbus@graylinerome.it. This email address is clearly indicated on our tickets precisely for situations such as this. When contacting our office, please also include a copy of your tickets so that we can verify your purchase and review your request. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused and hope you will consider giving us another opportunity to provide the level of service we normally strive to offer. Kind regards, I Love Rome Hop On Hop Off City Tour
This company only has 4 busses in Rome (actually only 3 today) compared to nearly 20 that Big Bus has. Therefore we were not actually able to get on a bus. Requested refund and they would not give one.

The first bus had the copertina pulled off and we did have nice views. The second bus had the copertina on and the views were limited. I understood that the sun was strong and it was a very big heat, but I think the most important was the views and the people from the bus could have put something on their heads
Awful experience - they say it’s 15 min between buses - but this is a lie - sometimes it’s up to 30 min. It’s faster to walk. Also, they wait a lot in the stop - so the tour is 1 hour 40 min - they have only 4-5 busses - this is a cheap tour - but the service is poor. Also, buses are dirty !!!!!! Other companies ask more money - but better service.
