Horseback Riding Adventure in La Fortuna with River Crossings

Our horseback riding tour was absolutely fantastic and one of the highlights of our trip. The family running the ranch was incredibly warm, welcoming, and friendly from start to finish. They truly embodied the relaxed “Pura Vida” lifestyle and made us feel right at home. During the ride, we not only explored the beautiful countryside but were also lucky enough to spot sloths in the wild. Along the way, they shared interesting information about Costa Rica and the local farms, where a variety of fruits and crops are grown. It made the experience even more authentic. One of the biggest highlights was riding through the river and even swimming with the horses. It was such a unique experience and something we’ll never forget. When we returned to the ranch, we were treated to a delicious selection of local fruits to try. We also had the chance to press fresh sugarcane ourselves and enjoy the juice right away, which was a fun and tasty experience. Overall, everything was exceptionally well organized and thoughtfully put together. If you’re looking for an authentic Costa Rican experience with wonderful people, beautiful horses, and the true spirit of Pura Vida, this is the place to go. Highly recommended – 5/5 stars!

Best excursion experience I’ve ever had. We even had the option to ride our horse while it swam. We fed the horses when we returned and got to juice fresh sugar cane. The hosts gave us soursop to drink when we arrived back at the meeting place. The guides were super friendly, patient, and knowledgeable! I would do it again any day!

A spectacular experience is an understatement of description. Definitely the best horseback riding tour in the area/ that I’ve ever gone to. Andy was our guide who welcomed us to his family owned ranch. This was a very personal experience filled with jungle paths, backroads, and a river crossing. They fed us fresh fruits and juices throughout tour. We even got to crush our very own sugar cane juice! 10/10 would book for a life long memory.

Extremely good experience Josue guided us through the whole experience and provided us with so much extra that he didn’t have to, upon visit he treated us at his dinner table with a bunch of fresh fruit, along the trip he surprised us with a buffalo at the river, and a bunch of other suprises at the end ( you have to book to see so i dont spoil it) very good and would 100% reccomend to everyone.

Such an amazing experience! The horses were calm & obviously well loved and taken care of. The views and scenery were beautiful, we were lucky to enough to see a few macaws fly over us. Before the tour started we were given some really good fruit, and had some freshly squeezed juiced waiting on us when we got back. 10/10

Super experiences very nice and very friendly guides!

The trip was so amazing Andy was so observant we were able to spot birds, sloths, frogs and the river experience was so beautiful and centering! Jump off the rock you won’t regret it!!

Wonderful experience; from the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with fruits, they explained the route, what we were going to see and do: we passed by rivers, trails, observed wildlife such as frogs and snails, the guides were very kind and knowledgeable; at the end of the tour, they showed us how to extract juice from sugarcane. A simply beautiful experience.

It was a great experience. Horse are well trained and gentle. The ride was amazing. Swimming with horses is unforgettable memory. Our guide Marlon and Fabian was a perfect guides, with a lot of kindness and patience. We did a lot of things during our experience we saw sloth, macow, red frog. After the ride you are going to feed the horses and can spent a little bit time with them. We did a sugar can juice, which is extremely delicious. We will never forget our trip.

I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! The entire experience exceeded every expectation. The hospitality, professionalism, and knowledge of everyone on the team were truly exceptional. One moment that really stood out was when we crossed a river and my husband’s phone accidentally fell into the water. The river was very cloudy, and we thought there was no chance of finding it. Chris, one of the staff members, spent nearly 20 minutes diving into the river without giving up. Against all odds, he found the phone! We can’t thank him enough for going above and beyond. When we returned, we were welcomed with fresh juice and incredible hospitality, which made the experience even more memorable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing experience. We will definitely be back with our family!
